Are you kidding? I just received a call, I am in California, I have not entered any contests or requests in, oh, say 5 years or more and have no desire to do anything in Colorado!!
You have no right to contact me, and I also have a no call phone.

My issue with this number is that they call, you answer and they hang up.  Or they call, you don't answer, and they leave no message.  Either way, why are you calling?!  I am a long-time owner at Grand Timber and an owner at Peak 7.  If you are calling me, you are annoying your owners and I would like it stopped.

Brekenridge is part of the Vail Mafia which controls most of the ski terrain along I-70 west of the Continental Divide.  By controlling so much of the market the Vail Mafia sets incredibly high prices for their properties. They also contribute the majority of the traffic to the weekend traffic snarls on I-70. The State of Colorado should tax their profits at a higher rate to offset the cost of widening I-70. In the meantime these Mafiosos should not be allowed to market in any manner whatsoever let alone these incessant robocalls looking to drag stupid people into time share schemes which went out of favor in the 1980s. If you want a timeshare, look on craigslist.org for people dumping them at 25% to 50% of what the developers want for them. Vail and its many faces are for tourists and locals should avoid them. Behind the marketing hype is good Colorado skiing. Great Colorado skiing can be found at many other ski areas and resorts. Vuck Fail!

I answered the telemarketer’s call tonight and honestly told him that I have never spent a night in Breck, despite being born and raised in Colorado... After his attitude, I certainly won't waste my time at Peak 7 at Breckenridge! I needed to give him reservation dates and my credit card right then and there OR let him know when he could call back. I asked for him to email me information that I would love to discuss the "opportunity" with my husband, but that committing to anything right now felt too pressured... He replied: "Fine! We'll just give this deal to someone else then!" And then he hung up on me! Wow, stellar customer service example! Website is beautiful, but the people are ugly and I’m so grateful I didn’t waste the time or money to be treated this poorly in person.

The attitude some of you have heard is pervasive at Vail properties which include Vail, Breaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado and several properties in other states. It is pure snobbery and marketing hype. There is no reason to go to any of these artificial resorts when there is so much more to Colorado and much friendlier people. Monarch Mountain Resort, Crested Butte, Durango, Wolf Creek, Loveland, and Steamboat all have great mountains and snow without the attitude. Very few people you meet from the guests to the lift attendants to the maids are locals at Vail properties. They are all imported from other countries at extremely low wages. Now, go ahead and answer the phone next time these dimwits call and tell them to get REAL. Peace out.

Dear Bretzel,

There is no mafia in Breckenridge.  I have lived and worked here for 7 years, and it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth that everyone should be able to enjoy.  The town and the ski resort, while they share property lines are completely separate entities. Likewise, while many of our lodges sit at the the base of the ski area, we are a private company.  I am sorry you don't support large profitable ski areas. That is unfortuanate since they are responsible for the bulk of tourism dollars and tax generated in this state.  Perhaps non-lift accessed back-country skiing is best for you.  Your post seems that it would be better directed to the state legislature than to a private real estate developer based in Breckenridge.  Let me know if we at Breckenridge Grand Vacations may be of further assistance to you.

Dear Jane,

I apologize that you dislike the four largest ski areas in your state, unfortunatly there is nothing I can do to remedy that situation.  We would however like to invite you to Breckenridge, to see the perfect mountain town, that exists not because of skiing but because of gold mining.  Breckenridge has a rich local history dating back to 1859.  While there are many seasonal workers in town from out of state or abroad, there are also many locals who live and work the communities you have mentioned.  I would recommend visiting us in the Summer when you can enjoy activities such as gold panning, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, horseback riding or four wheeling.  Please email me if you would like to hear more about our year round lodging offers.
