Report a phone call from 971-295-9768 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Noelle| 4 repliesI'm expecting a phone call from a medical supply company and missed this call. When I don't recognize a number, I ignore it and don't call them back, but in this case, I did call them just to make sure it wasn't from the company I'd been expecting to hear from.
I'm thinking this is just another one of those scam calls. When the voice mail answered, the man's voice was sort of singsong when giving the name of his mailbox, which was full, of course. The mailboxes are always full if you call back the scammers.
Probably a SCAM.
If I find out otherwise, I'll post back with a correction. - Sparrow replies to NoelleCaller from 971-295-9768 left a message on my voice mail. Voice is accented and hard to understand the name of the person and company calling. Message began: Press the number 1 to speak to a live operator to lower your interest rates." I erased the message at this point and blocked the number.
- Amy| 2 repliesI just got called from the same number; called back as well and got a full voice mailbox for Mike Jones (Mike! Jooooooooooooooooooones! was how he pronounced it - I believe Noelle hit the nail on the head with the scam).
I answered my cell (I honestly don't know how they get my cell number - I don't give it out - unless they're recycling the number and they acquired it from the person who used to have it) and listen to the recorded message: in a nutshell - press one now to lower my credit card rates to 6.9%. I pressed one, now - but I was going to try to elicit info from them (who/where and to get them to stop calling).
Kicker - they hung up on me as soon as I pressed one!- Caller: Unknown
- deeI registered my phone with do not call and am starting still to get all kinds of calls. How do i stop this on my cell pone.
- Ed replies to NoelleSame experience here. Thanks for posting.
- MSeems like a strange coincidence to me, too. I renewed my number on the Do Not Call list and since then I've been receivng many, unwanted, annoying and I thought, illegal calls on my cell phone. I've filed complaints on the do not call website, but have never heard anything back and the calls certainly have not stopped.
- Dr. Buttake| 1 replyJust received two calls from these idiots....
First time, I hung up. Second time, I hit ONE to speak to someone and actually had a chat with a lady asking me for my credit percentages. I made up 3% (no one could ever be lower than that), and she was dumfounded... and hung up on me.
It's so sad. These poor people need an education, and A JOB!!! - Annoyed by Unknown #sCaller, aka, "the Ignoramus," calls, leaves no voicemail... Obviously a SCAM!
971 area code search identifies Oregon as origin... I guess Oregonists have nothing better to do
with their Ore-Gone... No gold on this end for them Scam-Prospectors...- Caller: 971 Oregon
- Annoyed by Unknown #s replies to Dr. Buttake...those "Idiots, aka, Credit Card Services" called me too!
I only answered as was expecting out of state call.
Since I have no CCard-issues, I asked, "which card you referring?"
Girl responds, "All of them!"
After telling her I had none, she hung up! - Jake HayGot a call from this number on my cell phone......caller ID showed "Oregon Call." i don't know anybody in Oregon, didn't answer. No message left. There doesn't seem to be any way of stopping these intrusive calls.....the Do Not Call list is worthless, and reporting the number to the FCC is useless as well. All they say is to "try" going to small claims court on your own......BIG help that is! If you can't produce a specific name, company name, and phone number, it's impossible to do anything about the calls....except ignore them. But they just keep coming............
- Caller: unknown
- ljwOh yes. I did answer this call. I don't know why but they said idly was important for me too contact my credit card company weapon to lows my rates. I think 6.9% .
It was a recording and I was to make a selection like push one to make changes now. Etch. I hung up on the recording. .
The voice was easy to understand. Good English grammar. But they didn't know my credit company and they didn't mention my name. There are several people in my home with different cards. Same phone number- Caller: credit card. not named
- Concerned Citizen replies to Noelle| 1 replyGot the same call and called back and it is a cell phone for some one who annouces his name Mike Jones like he is some rapper. If the number he is calling to is a cell phone you should be able to block him and others by downloading a free app on your android or apple phone called "Blacklist" and it will block unwanted numbers or calls in the future.
Be Blessed - bk2701All the "Rachel from Cardholder Services" and "Anne from Account Services" robo calls seem to be following same script. They appear to used faked caller ID number, and then the unlucky owner of that phone number has their voice mail filled with angry call backs.....the caller ID never seems to be from an actual company as far as I can tell. The caller ID numbers change weekly. I've seen 201-267-5646 and 704-206-0013, and 971-295-9768 in the last few weeks. I always press "1" to speak to someone, and pretend I'm very interested to try to pry out as much information as I can about who they are....but usually, they hang up on me as soon as I push them for details or insist on a number to call them back (good confirmation that this is a scam). Lately, after pressing "1"...the call just terminates. I guess they are short on humans to answer all their robo calls.
IMHO, it would be easire to stop this people if lawyers close loopholes on false caller ID. If these calls came in from real numbers it would be easy to file complaint and/or block/ignore their robo calls. I think they recently passed some laws on making false caller ID "more illegal" (as if scamming alone was not illegal enough). They obviously don't care about "Do Not Call" rules, since they are using fake numbers and not a legitimate company anyway. If the caller ID is fake, how do we report them to FCC?....reporting their fake number isn't goint to shut them down. We need mechanism to identify the actual source of the calls to shut down these people.- Caller: Cardholder Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MaxReceived another call from 971-295-9768 and got the same message AGAIN! Who are these people, what do they want, how did they get my number, and how can I stop this from happening AGAIN?
- Caller: Did not get the name this time.
- DC replies to Concerned CitizenUnfortunately, this app may not work - they call from different numbers each time. I've gotten calls from Florida, Michigan and Oregon this week alone. Must not be meeting their quota, as I typically only get a call or two every other week. But, they cannot reduce my rate any more than the zero I pay.
- fraudfightercredit card scam
- Caller: criminal group
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Joe GoulartI continue to get calls from this number; to lower my interest rate. In spite of the fact I have asked to be removed from their list, I continue to get calls. When I ask any questions they hang up.....
- Caller: Don't Know...
- chattyThis number came on as I was making a call and said my straight talk service plan had been terminated and I could not complete the call. They actually turned my phone service off, except for returning a call to them. Identified themselves as my provider, yes I was scammed on March 2,2012 at approx 9 am. Afterwards, I looked up my providers number online and reported it to them. Reported to my bank and to all 3 credit bureas. Also I am filing a report of fraud with the FBI. I am sure Mike Jol you will read this. Comin to getcha. Whatcha gonna do bad boy, bad boy
- Caller: straight talk
- DLI am tried of this number popping up on my phone
- JMKCall the phone carrier McLeodUsa Telecommunications which the number is provided through and file a complaint. I just did. The more complaints the providers have, they will have to do something eventually. Ask them if they condone their customers using their services to commit crime. Their number is 877-759-9020. Mcleodusa is now owned by Windstream.
- Caller: Credit Card Services
