Report a phone call from 971-373-2982 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- CTkecThis is the latest in a series of calls where a recorded voice says that they can lower your interest rate on all your calls. I believe this to be a scam called Phishing (attempting to acquire information such as credit card details). Caller-ID shows FINANCIAL CTR, 971-373-2982.
- Caller: FINANCIAL CTR
- Call type: Telemarketer
- RobPhone rang twice, no answer when I said hello.
- HateTelemarketersI've gotten more calls from these weenbags than I can count. At worst, a scam. At best, violating FTC rules. Losers.
- Caller: "Financial Center"
- mjwaldReceived robo-call with option to speak with live operator. I've been selecting to speak with live operators to investigate who the caller is and then ultimately specifically ask they remove my number from their calling lists.
This call claimed to be from the VISA/Mastercard processing center and was offering to adjust my interest rates on my VISA/Mastercard credit cards to a much lower fixed rate. The guy was very fast talking, condescending and extremely aggressive. Especially when I attempted to flush information out of him instead of him getting information from me. I asked for a callback number and he gave me 1-800-945-2000. Which upon researching is also a fraudulent number. Rule of thumb is ALWAYS call the number on the back of the actual credit card for any issues and never some number provided by an unsolicited call.- Caller: Non identified Portland, Oregon
- MommacatHave gotten many calls from this number. Never leaves a message.
- Caller: Financial Ctr
- MichelleThey just called and hung up.I dial it back and it says this is a marketing call if you want to be taken off this list press 1.I did not press any numbers after this messaging repeated itself 3 times it hangs up on you.
- TN SUBSSame thing - going to lower interest on credit card but you have to owe at least $3,000.
Why do they call at dinner time - i.e. 5:44 PM?- Caller: Financial Center
- JEAN W FOGARTYCalls constantly and I get a partial message saying they can reduce my interest rate. Considering I don't have credit cards or loans it has to be a scam. So much for the 'do not call' list!
- Caller: FINANCIAL CTR
- Call type: Telemarketer
- HuH?They called & a recorded msg played, saying they wanted to lower my credit card rates to 6 percent, and that it was their final courtesy call. The recording went on to say that if I owe a minimum of $3000 dollars between all cards, that I "pre-qualified" for the "deal" if I had at least 1 credit card in good standing.
The message said to Press 1 to hear more, and I did.
A person answered and immediately asked if I was interested in reducing my interest rate... to which I replied "who I am talking to?"
They promptly hung up the phone without saying a word. - FeedUpIm on the donot call list what a joke.

- FraudedThe reason a large portion of the people are having trouble with this number is because this number is being "Spoofed" by Delta Outsource Group, a collection agency located in O'Fallon, MO. They will try and gather enough information to create an account. Many bank accounts have been drained by this establishment and many "Spoofed" phone numbers have been fraudulently used to aquire information.
This not only hurts people by the harrassment, but also hurts the establishment that the number belongs to.

We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.
These calls are coming from call centers in Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false)
numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in
this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.
Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small
print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone. The Telephone Consumer
Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes
or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for
each violation.

People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office and also file with:

If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done.
The FTC has already taken action against some of them however they just pay a small fine and are back at the same scam the next day:

- Tired of Robo CallsThese people have been asked to stop calling for several months. The do not call list obviously means nothing.
I received a recorded message that begins like a third party collection call a roomie used to get -- threatening and intimidating ("This is your LAST NOTIFICATION before further action is taken") ... into the last few seconds of the recorded message is where they make the pitch to lower your interest rate on your current credit cards.
I pressed one to talk with someone to get the name of the company and tell them again to not call me. The RUDE woman answered "Card Services" and I asked what the name of the company was. She was nasty and stated "I just told you the name of the company" and she hung up.- Caller: Card Services

- IraPlowmanSame as everybody else has been saying. Get these calls and press number to be removed, but within a day or two or even within a hour, will get the same call again, sometimes with a different number. Couple times have press number to be talk to live person and when I ask to speak to a supervisor to be removed from their call list, I am told their is no supervisor, and that these calls are not regulated by the governments "Do Not Call Registry" rules, since they are computer generated dialed calls and you have the option not to press number to be talk to live person. I have placed numerous complaints with the National Do Not Call registry, but maybe, it is time to start calling our Senators and Representatives about putting these people in jail.

- Sandy GCalled 'em back, a couple times get a VERY rude man w/a thick indeterminate accent, who hangs up. Have pushe "1" to be taken off their list-What an effin' JOKE. Yeah, their needs to be REAL penalties for these A-Wholes, NOT just a slap-on-the-wrist fine. Standin' 'em up against a wall & being shot would be a good start...
