This number called me out of the blue yesterday and it showed Name Not Found on my caller id. It called again today- no messages were left.

Received a call from the number on 1/28/2014 around 6:00 PM with no Caller ID, and nobody answered nor left message.  The same thing has now happened on 1/29/2014.  When attempting to dial the number back, a recording states the number is not recognized and to consult the number or directory again.  

I answered.  They asked for my wife by name.  Told them she was not home.  Asked if we still owned 2007 xxx vehicle.  Answered yes.  They said our warranty had run out and were going to offer us another extended policy.  Don't know where they got the information, but it was probably from the company that scammed my wife into buying the first policy by saying she would get all of her money back if it wasn't used. when she bought the car new then went out of business.  

4th call today they hang up , when you call back recorder comes on says number no good check directory . this is everyday

This caller shows up on caller ID as "Name Not Found." They asked for my father by name, but when I told them he wasn't home and asked if they would like to leave a message they quickly said no thanks, and said they would call back later. Of course I had my suspicions. I didn't recognize the area code so I googled it and it's from Texas. We have no relatives or friends there. So I google the full number and turns out it's a scam. Deny all calls from this caller.

got a call from 972 185 6355 on Jan. 30, 2014   Male asked for me by name,  and then when I asked him who he was he hung up.  checking internet,  many many others got the same kind of call.  No reason not to give me his name.  Maybe a scam.  If you get such a call,  watch all your credit cards etc.  Several big databases have been compromised.

They didn't say who they are, they ask for my exact name, I don't know who they are.

Got the call today. The caller ID showed Texas. Didn't pick up the phone as the number didn't look familiar. I wash there is a way to stop these people from calling!!!

It's some auto warranty scam.  The woman said went into her pitch, I interrupted and told her to never call this number again.  According to Wikipedia, 972 is the area code for the Dallas area.

Young male said his name was Austin, asked for my husband by name and mentioned warranty for a car we own. When I asked to be placed on their do not call list he hung up. I wish there were meaningful jobs for people out there that are reduced to this kind of work. Time to get rid of the land line.

Don't you just love how federal programs don't work, i.e. the "Do Not Call List".  Wait until you see how bad they screw up healthcare.  WOOHOO!

my husband got a call on his cell phone yesterday but I didn't get to it in time. I didn't worry about it (if its important they'll call back kind of thing) and when he got home from work I told him he had someone call his cell earlier and this is the number. he called it back just to be told by a recording that it wasn't in service or whatever. we are also on do not call lists and they do NOT work..we don't even have a landline!

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if it's a land line or cell phone. This number just called my cell, but I didn't pick up because I didn't recognize it. I haven't had a land line in years.

This number has called my cell everyday for the past six days!  I won't answer because I don't recognize it.  I'm glad now after reading everyone's comments!

After 7 calls in 4 days wish they would actually be on the line when I answer. That way I can let them go on and on & waste their time in hopes of selling something while cleaning the cat box or doing dishes after working all day. My 17 year old vehicle would piss them off if it's an auto scam...thanks posters for heads up. Going to turn this into fun!

Keep getting calls from this number.  When I answer, it's just dead air and then a click.  When I don't answer, they don't leave a message.  I've tried calling back only to get a disconnected-type error message.  They've called as early as 6am and as late as 11pm.  I don't care how much of an early bird or night owl you are; that's rude.
