Received 7 calls in 9 hours.  All calls sounded like a fax machine.  I called the number back and was redirected by a recorded message to call 877-805-9074.  They answered as Onstar customer support, took my phone number and said the calls will stop in 72 hours.

same thing happened to me. It lasted for three weeks since it showed as a private number. Finally 972-372-1723 showed on my cell. i wish to stop receiving this harassing (or marketing call by Onstar c/s) call forever!

I googled the phone number and came up with this.  Onstar's customer service said they would take care of it.  Funny thing is, this has happened to me before.  They said they would take care of it, and it stopped for awhile but recently started up again.

I am receiving these calls on my cell phone.

I've bben getting this hassle as well I've decided to just forward my phone to the on-star number 877-805-9074 during the time I normally receive this annoying phone call..

My friends and I were hanging out and all of a sudden this # started calling me!!! It freaked us out alot..... it was a buzzing sound like a fax  machine too!!!! WHO-EVER THIS IS, STOP HORRASSING ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the onstar people said it would stop within 36 hours.

We just started getting the same phone calls tonight from the same number. They have called 5 times tonight within the past hour. We get the same message when calling the number back.  I'm awake now and pissed, and decided to do a quick search online. We're in Ft. Worth, and the number is being tagged as a land line out of Plano, Texas.

we been recieving this phone call with that number and when we answer, it sounds like a fax machine, we also try to call it back and beap sound comes on and it doesnt ring, i get this phone anytime of the day even at 1 or 2 in the morning, please make them stop!

The first time I received this call I answered and it was long beeping noises. It called back in less than 5 min and did the same thing. It woke me up at 3:12 and 3:15 this morning. It even left a message that beeped! As stated above, I have to call a different number made by Onstar in order to fix the problem!

I get it twice, too. At least, I think they're both the same. The first one always says "Unavailable" on the caller ID, and the second one always says 9723721723. I used several different websites to do the reverse phone look up thing, and all of them say it's a residential number. I got about 4 sets of these calls yesterday and then got them again at about 6 am. I saved the phone number to my address book under "Unknown @$$hole" and set it to ring on silent, but I can't seem to get the Unavailable ones to not ring.

I received the calls from 972-372-1723 at all hours of the day for a few weeks. There was either silence on the other end or a fax-like beeping sound. I called the number back but it said it couldn't be completed as dialed. I finally got redirected to Onstar Customer Service. Call 1-888-466-7827 and the calls will stop within 72 hours. You will have to give your name and your full number.

I have been getting this # off and on for months now, when I called onstar the lady told me it was up to me to get the call blocked and, she couldn't do anything about it.

This fax number has been calling me for over a month. Today a number finally showed up - OnStar. Now they say they don't reimburse for the minutes they have wasted on my cell phone bill. Is this the great OnStar service they advertise? NOT! They say all they will do is to quit calling, hopefully within 24 hours. Does that make up for the 5 calls I received this morning. Not happy with this type of customer service.

The calls started today, so far I've gotten 6 calls, the first 5 with unavailable, then finally with this number.  I did call OnStar and they said it would stop in 24 hours.  I will definitely be shutting my ringer off tonight, based on what others have written.

OnStar occasionally makes calls to vehicles to modify the configuration, collect usage information, activate units or deactivate units. Unfortunately, there is not a 100% correct way to know which numbers are real, valid cars and which have been re-claimed by (usually) Verizon Wireless.  So, unfortunately our outbound modems make calls to cell phones.  As many of you figured out, the best approach is to call the helpdesk, report your phone number and ask them to take it out of their system. They'll need your number to track down exactly why the call is being made because there are multiple systems that make outbound calls.

I know the pain firsthand because one of the outbound numbers was reported as my desk phone.  I got at least 10 voicemails a month from angry cell-phone users claiming that I had been harassing them (I have nothing to do with the outbound calling)

I got a call tonight. So far just one (knock wood) and went online to try to figure out the area code and such after getting the OnStar message. I live in Ohio and the area code for this is Texas.  What the heck?!  All I can say is I better NOT get a call in the middle of the night because I have an Aunt that is not doing well in the hospital and it will freak me out if the phone rings.

I started having this happen this am about 332am and its called me like 8 times since then wouldnt be so bad but it started about an hour after i went to bed so never the less wasnt happy. I did call the 877-805-9074 and they assured me after taking my information (name, phone number and what the sound was example loud fax sounds) they assured me that within 24 hours it would stop. I told them if i got it again i would be calling back to get someones phone number and id be more then glad to call them @ 330am and wake them up etc. Just thought id share this with you all

I have also been receiving the calls at all hours of the morning and with a husband whose out of town a lot it's very scary to get a call @ 2, 3 or 4AM only to have the obnoxious beeping going off in your ear. Not to mention waking up my two small children. However thanks to those of you who know how to "google" and such (unlike us older folk :)) I was able to call the 866-466-7827 and have my number removed (within 24 hours). Now if they can work on the telemarketers we'd be smooth sailin'

This number has been calling my husband 20 and 30 time per day.  Even in the middle of the night.  Now they are calling me.  I just want it stopped.  The number came from MCI Communications.

I am on hold now with OnStar. I understand using autodialers is a cost savings, and the dialer only dials the numbers the input file provides, but when you have this many incidents, you need to set up some type of strip program so that non-customer cell phone numbers are NOT dialed. Anyway...they are transferring me now to another dept that can help me. Unfortunately this is eating up my cell phone minutes. But but if it gets the job done, and stop calling me in the middle of the night I will be happy. Carrie was the CSR that took my call, she asked for my name and cell phone number as well as the OnStar number (972-372-1723), which I gave to her. She apologized and said that she'd take care of it and the calls would stop within 24 hours.
