said the call was from michigan state correctional center and gave prompts to accept or not accept the call.

I have received 4 voice mail messages, one on Monday evening (1/09) and three on Tuesday evening (1/10), from this number. Each was the automated operator for a collect call from the Michigan Dept of Corrections. The recorded name on one of the calls was "Patrick".  This is business phone in OK and I have no idea who this person is.

It was a call wanting me to accept charges to talk to someone in the Michigan Corrections Facility. I don't know anyone who would be calling me from there so I hung up and called back. It is the Michigan Corrections Facility all right, hmmm.

Same deal - MI Corrections call, allegedly, despite a TX area code.  I got several of these  month or two ago and now again today.

Had 5 calls from this number tonight.  Looked up the area code and it said that is was from the Dallas area.  It sounded like the name was Joe.  we don't anybody who is in there.  It says its the Michigan Department of Corrections

My boyfriend is in MDOC and calls from this number everytime we talk, you must put money on a credit card to accept the calls, MDOC rents this calling service based out of texas for cheaper rates which is where the area code stems from. This is not a scam or telemarketer, someone might be incarcerated and trying to get a hold of you!

i just got two calls from this number saying it is a michigan  state correctional faciltiy. cant understand what the person name is other than it is a man.. the recording is asking me for money to put on this account so i can accept the collect calls... while i am typing this i got another one.. i want them to stop how do i get them to stop calling me.

Ive gotten several calls now from this number for the past 3 days, and a total of 10 calls so far leaving a voice message almost everytime. Each voice message is the guy saying the same exact thing, however it doesn't sound like its a recording. it sounds like he's repeating it everytime.  All he says is "hey baby" and then the recording plays asking me if i want to accept the call.  I only answered the call once and muted it to see who was calling, and that was the first time i realized they were calling from the Michigan's corrections facility... although i do live in Michigan, the area code is a Dallas Texas area code...im pretty creeped out and kinda feel scared. i think there's an option on the recording to make the calls stop, so im going to answer next time and see what happens... im glad im not the only one getting calls but i wonder if its all the same guy?

Got two  calls a minute apart yesterday. Don't think I know anyone in corrections, but I would NEVER give any credit card number out on the phone, anyway

someone keeps calling me from this number several times in the night. i have no idea who would be calling me. i want it to stop.

this person keeps calling me and says "i hope you can pick up" the number shows up on my phone so how can it be a prison? i've gotten prison calls from a friend before and it ALWAYS came up as a private number. i dont know but i have NO clue who this person is

Omg. The calls are from the michigan correctional facility which is a prison.my dad is in there. You should answer the call and see who it is because it will say the name!

Got a call tonight at close to midnight, I do live in MI, but don't really know anyone is jail. They didn't leave a message and I didn't answer. Is this really a jail number?

I think your information was the most helpful. However, their seems to be something going on that should not be. I personally do not know anyone by the name that was given on the phone when I answered. So yeah I believe it is someone in jail. My next question is how did they get my cell phone number. Something is not right at all.

It is a Michigan correctional facility. When the inmate calls they are now calling with a calling card that they pay for. If you are getting calls and don’t know the person there is an option to stop the calls.  The person (inmate) may be calling the wrong number by accident.
