Caller ID showed this number as "LEWISVILLE TX".

Almost daily I have a call on caller ID from TX FOP 972-829-6077. Glad to check that others have received it also. I have a severe hearing loss and use Relay Texas to make my calls and I thought maybe it was an incoming call from them.

I have also received this call and the caller ID is Lewisville TX

Scammers trying to represent a Fraternal order of police.  No one has ever heard of them and they are a scam, don't give them anything.

Getting phone calls from this number 2-3 times a week. How can I get them to stop?

I reported these scammers to the FCC, including the information I found here.

Told them not to call me again, or I will report them to the authorities.

Didn't seem to have any effect on them.

We'll see if the FCC does anything about it!

Receiving calls from this number in the evenings. Just started a few days ago. Why haven't the authorities put a stop to this harrassment?

TX FOP (or Texas Fraternal Order of Police Texas State Lodge) is nothing but a social and lobbying club for cops. See http://www.texasfop.org/.

This is nothing but a bunch of unethical cops trying to get you to pay for their social club and political lobbying by utilizing a thinly veiled shake down.

This is one of the reasons why I have lost all respect for cops.

This is a telemarketing call for the Texas Fraternal Order of the Police.  They are trying to collect for their officers' fund.  They claim to be an actual police officer on the line, but it isn't.  It's a company that they have hired to make the calls for them!!  They won't stop and it is almost impossible to get them to take your info off their list.

I have told them NO over and over, hung up on them, and still they keep calling.  It sounds very much like a threat when they ask for money.  I am on the no-call list, but it doesn't seem to be working for this outfit.  They call at the time my elderly Father is napping and wake him up.  I hope someone can stop them.

i have gotten a call from these people also, but did not answer until i could check it out here.  for people reading these posts and receiving these annoying calls, you can put a stop to them!  panasonic now makes a landline series of phones that have a CALL BLOCK feature on them. y'all should check them out!

received a call from this # yesterday.  Didn't answer. I never answer call from area codes that don't have some relevance to me.

Answered phone and caller said: "Collect call from an inmate in the Harris County Jail."  I immediately hung up the phone and notice my caller ID said: 972-829-6077 TX FOP.

I have had several calls from the above according to my caller ID.

Please stop these kind of annoying senseless calls.

Here's what's annoying about these a$$holes who call themselves the fraternal order of police:

(1) The majority of the money they raise is spent on the telemarketer that raises funds.
(2) They call from multiple numbers and if you block one, they just call from another.
(3) Their website says you can 'donate' but the IRS pulled their 501-(c)-3 designation because almost none of the funds raised are used for valid charitable purposes.
(4) no matter how many times you ask they will not take you off their list

They claim association with police in effort to intimidate you the victims into donating money. Some people think that if they do not give some money, the local police would know and be given a bad reputation.   These FOP scammers are in no way associated with any law enforcement or any ethical person. These are slime that rather steal than work for a living.  All police are funded by your tax dollars NOT any private donations!

they wake me up very early and the person that is calling talks like somebody that was drinking

Whoever actually owns this number now (still in TX), claims to have a local job for you.  In my case, they are using a supposed job opening, which coincides with another part-time company, Collabra.  About a year ago, I received a dozen phone calls from a temp. agency in NJ, Collabra.  I checked them out and it appears they use a bait and switch.  They promise you this great job with HP (If your resume is in the IT field) starting at $25.xx per hour.  That job never pans out.  How do I know?  Because a different person called me each time, over the course of 6 months with the SAME job offer.  I didn't get the name of the new company that called from 9728296077, but they are offering the exact same job position at HP.  Bottom line.... SCAM!!!
