I just received a call from this number stating that I've won a prize and needed to make sure I had a credit/debit card.  I could get a free magazine subscriptions all for $3.99.  This appears to be a collection agency so I'm a little concerned about this call.

This business has called me non stop for 7 months on a bill that i am not responsible for, when i spoke with them i asked them to stop and offered a phone number to call to resolve the issue. They refused to take the number and told me that they could call me as much as they wanted,I responded that there are harassment laws and they were in violation. also i hurt myself getting to the ph i have a spine injury that needs 24/7 care after i see my doctor i plan on seeing my lawyer next. Also they block there number about half of the calls they called me. and i feel if this is there practice of doing business then they should be banned from all 52 states and not allowed to be in business in this name or any other name.....

I got this message at home and on my cell phone and it was this agency. She only said her name and my account number. I think I know what it is for but do you really have to give that account number where others can hear you? I gave them an email asking me what it is for. I am not giving my money to anyone. I am financially unable to pay the full amount and they do not understand that some people canno0t provide the payments when full and if they call again I will tell them that it is already taken care and thank you very much. I love when they do not identify themselves either and only give their name.

Stevens business service is one of the most unprofessional collection agencies in business. They have a bunch of amatuers working who clearly has no idea about the fdcpa or hippa laws. ive been called several times not once have i been asked too verify my information, ive been told my account was going to credit report but the hospital they're talking about doesnt even credit report now i know that is definitly a violation. from there on i have asked to speak with several supervisors i have been passed on from one person to another, in conclusion on, not one person even really discussed the account with me all they basically told me was to pay my bill, which was just an error on the hospital that has been resolved now. ive asked for a requisition form or proof for validation of the debt, the agent told me no its too late they are not responsible...hmmm isnt that a violation stevens business service ..i think so. but its okay since the first phone call ive recorded every conversation and if that dont work i have phone records of continous calls, and  endless paperwork. Me and my attorney has been working on this business for several months and i promise u we will put you out of business.i have every individual names hope to see you in court Thomas Varnum and your employees.

I hope you're not under the mistaken impression that you can actually sue someone for your injury.  YOU hurt yourself answering the phone.  Also, they are legally allowed to call you after 7AM and before 8:30PM and don't have to call another number.  They don't have to stop calling you until you tell them to stop IN WRITING.  So enough with your lawsuits.  Please learn how the law actually works before you make such foolish statements.

    CONSUMER INFO
Important information you should know when dealing with debt collectors and junk debts.

NEVER give a debt collector your banking information. They could take much more than you authorize, or even empty your account, then state that you gave them permission. It will end up being your word against there’s.

NEVER give a debt collector your credit/debit card information as the same holds true they could charge or take more than authorized, then state you gave them permission.

NEVER send a debt collector money via Western Union, Wal-Mart or any other source unless you have a letter from them, on their letterhead showing their name address, the account, the creditor and sign by management stating it represents payment in full or payment on your account. If not, they can later claim you did not pay, or missed an agreed upon time other common debt collector lies.

NEVER do anything based only on a phone call. Any legitimate collector should be willing to put agreements in writing BEFORE a payment is made. There are many legitimate collectors who act in an ethical and professional manner. Those who do not are usually the scammers out to take your money, with threats, extortion and lies.

NEVER Send money to a junk debt collector on a payday loan based on their claim that you committed a crime, or are about to be served a lawsuit. Payday loan collectors are the worst liars, con artists and extortionists in the industry. They cannot take legal actions, have no authority, which is why the resort to such drastic measures to scare you.

RECORD conversations with collectors (where legal) so they can be held accountable if they break the law.

BEWARE Paying a collector will NOT get anything removed from your credit report. Debt collectors do not have that ability and their lies about disputing it with credit bureaus after you pay them is not true, they are liars trying to take your money, most will say almost anything.

COLLECTION ATTORNEYS who collect debts make a large profit in almost every case when a lawsuit is filed and you do nothing about. You lose by default, they get legal fees, costs and commissions that average at least 25% of what they collect. That judgment allows them to empty your bank account at any time, garnish your wages, levy against your home and personal property, where allowed.

CONSUMER ATTORNEYS defend against these junk debt and bottom feeder suits, normally for a small percentage of what you will end up paying on a judgment.. The reason most are successful in getting junk debt cases dismissed is because the documents they use almost always contain hearsay, or lack credibility. In addition, once dismissed, the debt dies with the suit, no judgment in your credit files, no worries about having wages garnished or bank accounts seized.
We know some of the best consumer law professionals in America who can talk to you about your options if sued by a junk debt attorney. Let us know where you live, who filed the suit and we’ll try and refer you to someone close by.

    CONSUMER LAW
Public Law 95-109, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), enacted by Congress to protect consumers from abusive and deceptive debt collection practices.
THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT MAKES IT ILLEGAL FOR COLLECTORS TO:
Imply that failure to pay the debt could result in arrest, imprisonment, or garnishment of wages
Call consumers at work when they know the consumers' employers prohibited such calls
Talk with third parties, including neighbors, children, and employers, for purposes other than acquiring location information about consumers, without consumers' consent
Cause the telephone to ring, or engage a person in telephone conversations, repeatedly or continuously, with the intent to annoy, abuse, or harass a consumer
Threaten to take action -- such as filing a lawsuit -- when they did not intend to do so
Call consumers at times or places that they knew or should have known were inconvenient
Fail to notify consumers of their right to dispute and obtain verification of their debts, and to obtain the name of the original creditor
Continue to try to collect debts after consumers disputed them in writing, and before verifying the debts
    Use obscene or profane language
