When I answer the phone no one responds

Got a call from 987-654-3210. He asked to speak to the office manager. I asked who was calling and he said Ruddy from yellow pages, wanting to confirm our listing. Then he read our business name, address and phone number very fast. I asked again who this was and he said  yellow pages. I asked to have him fax the information so we can approve it and he said he couldn't do that (I could hear a lot of people in the back-ground) and then I hung up. When I dialed the number back I got a recorded message saying it wasn't necessary to dial a "1" and the area code. Hmmmm

Got a call from them and there was no one on the other end of the line.  Then I had to reset the modem because it stopped working.  Coincidence or not?  This is a sequential dropping number 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0.

BE CAREFUL - THIS IS A SCAM - they called me and said they were with "yellow pages" and wanted to update our business information.  They read back all my business info and asked if it was all correct. I said it was.  They then say that they are going to renew my ad at the same price as last year, which is something like $499.  I told him that I didn't want that (because I knew I didn't have an ad with them), and then I promptly hung up.  They keep calling, and I keep hanging up on them....

They keep calling. Never leave a message. I don't PU because the area code is unfamiliar.

For those who have not noticed, these digits are a countdown for 9 to 0.  The person who called me a few minutes ago (with an accent) I think said he was from Office Max and later wanted to know if I wanted to keep my Yellow Pages listing for 2 more years.  Since we do not have a yellow pages ad,  I knew it was a scam.  I told him I was not interested. He the asked if I was the office manager, I said yes.  He then asked my name and I gave only my first and then ended the call.  Now I am thinking he will use this information in a future call.  I can imagine him calling trying to get someone else to answer the phone and say that he had talked to me and wanted to complete some kind of purchase.

Now I wish I would have screwed with him more.  Does anyone else have an Office Max perks account????

I have been getting a call from this number a couple of times a day for a few weeks. I have never answered the call cause I don't recongnize the number and they never ever leave a message. A reputable business would at least leave a message. Try looking up the area code, nothing comes up. Getting very annoyed with them.

it's a scam from a fake company posing as "yellow pages".  i fell for it last year, and got a bill later on.  do not answer.

Total Scam Artist.

1-987-654-3210 has been calling me 6 times a day. Finally picked up and someone too stupid to speak engish answered the phone trying to simply update my Yellow Pages listing which is FREE. At the end of phone call she asks for $499.

TOO STUPID TO SPEAK ENGLISH - HAS NOT LEARNED THE DEFINITION OF FREE

I get calls from this number several times a week.  I finally picked up this morning and got a recorded message that said "we have an important message for (my name).  if you are (my name) press 1"  Has anyone else had this happen?

I get these calls on my office phone from 9876543210.  As soon as I answer I am hung up on.  It is really getting on my nerves. I dont have time for that at work

caller 987 654 3210 called our land line at 2 AM leaving a threatening message claiming we had something of his and he would take it back with force. this was some sort of voice altered man.

I also got call today 5 times .he was abusing while talking. using vulgar talk.how to stop this nonsense. can some body suggest?

Answered phone and said hello four times -- no answer -- so hung up

got a call from that # today.  no idea who it is.

11 is a number I tend to notice. I look at the time its 11 after, born 11/20/1974 next year 2011,7+4=11
I have twins born 1/11/ 91

best thing to do.. get caller ID.. and then you will never have to answer the fool :) he must be running up a big bill lol

Getting a call from this number every 2-5 mins. Got called over 20 times in the past hour. Most of the time the line just went dead after answering bit once or twice there was an Indian sounding guy on the other end claiming to be from Yellow Pages. He wanted our credit card number and mother's maiden name to confirm our account details. I didn't give him them; we do have an account and listing with Yellow pages but we only deal directly with our account manager. I will report it to her.
