it came on my display as Invalid NPA

Fake Microsoft Support.  Says something similar to Windows Support.

someone keeps calling me from this phone number. sounds like someone from Iraq. They tell me to go get on my computer, and if I don't they were going to crash it !!!!!! The phone id says unknown name. So if you get this call , DO NOT ANSWER IT !!!!! They will miss up your computer & scam you !!

I get the same phone call, but the guy sounds Chinese...I have told him three times to not call me because I am not interested in his desire to prevent my computer from crashing, but he seems to continue to call(at least it is the same message Invalid NPA...he also says he is a Microsoft employee

Have been getting several calls per day from this number for the past week.  When answered, no one seems to be there.  Caller ID reports "Name not found."

Got a call from this number, a man said he's from Microsoft Service Centre and they found my computer was infected by some hidden virus that could be cleaned online only by them. I just asked what's the tools and procedure he's going to use and he hung up.

Again with the whole imaginary Microsoft support, this is their 4th time calling. This time, when they were told to stop calling and for the 4th time, I asked where he was calling from, he says New York and his name is Shane. He then puts another guy on the line and said his name is Randy! He then started using very vulgar language and telling me what he wanted to do to me! Very scary and have contacted the police.

I get several calls from this number EVERY day. No one ever responds when I answer

Getting frequent calls from this number.  Haven't answered but once, and they said something about windows support.  I asked them not to call again, but they have.  I am on the "Don't Call List" as well.

The phone rang i said hello 3 times then got a recorded voice saying good-bye. This happened 4 times in 20 minutes. The
caller id said 999-910-0224,this is a bogus #. County Sheriff's
Department Said it was from overseas.

Just got the call and decided to go along with it this time, hanging up doesn't seem to work, they just call back. I went through the bogus windows service part way, but he ended up hanging up on me because I was skeptical and had a bad attitude. Hopefully he doesn't call back now.

No they can't.

Everyday I receive a call from that number and when I answer, the only message I get is Goodbye then they hang up.

i got same experience ...i am half  asleeep then they called me telling from microsoft ... sad to say they track my computer number ... so while he is performing something or hacking my docs I hurried shut down my laptop

Got a call from this number mid-day EDT.  My answering machine had a blinking light for "message."  I listened to the message.  There was a blipping sound and then "goodbye."  That's all.  I think I have read somewhere that 999 is not a valid area code.

I just got the same call from Invalid NPA 999-910-0133 number pretending to work for Microsoft Windows 7  and he said that there was a malicious message coming from my computer and that I must go into Start Menu and follow further instructions, so I told him that I have 3 laptops and one desktop all with Windows7
so I then asked him which one should I go to? and he replied anyone.  so that was the end of my conversation and i hung up,  he called back three times.

Is anyone reported this to the authorities?

Same thing with 999-910-0223 and yes reported but not without having alittle fun first

Just got a call, the number was 9999100104.  Didn't answer because my husband talked to one the beginning of this week that came up private name private number.  They wanted his credit card number and for him to shut off his firewall so that they could fix his computer.  He told the guy that his security program had been pinged by a hacker 47 times over 2 weeks and that all the info that the security program picks up from hackers trying to get in is sent straight to the cops.  The guy said he was credible and gave my husband a company phone number and said he was located in Conneticut.  To which my husband said that it was too bad that the number belonged to a real estate company based in Texas.  The guy hung up immediately.  I got told not to answer any calls that I didn't recognize the number.
