i got a call at 6:10pm and again at 6:15pm from this number and both times they left a voicemail asking me to please anwer my phone, it is important.

some guy wanting to sell me a power scooter, talking very low.

Received a call from a man with a very thick accent telling me he was with Cashnet the company that owns all payday loan websites. I recently filed bankruptcy and told them this last week Wgen they called gave them my case number and attorney information as well, so after I explained this to them again I hung up! They called right back and asked me if I just hung up on a law enforcement officer when I asked if he was an officer he said yes with the NY sheriff's department and they were on their way to arrest me for defaulting on a payday loan. I have contacted me lawyer as well as every payday loan company with the Cashnet name and none of them have an account for me.

I get plenty of calls for someone else--all callers have extremely heavy accent.  They told me this time they were with the Department of Criminal Investigations for Pennsylvania.  No such department, since in PA it is the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.  When I tell them the other person doesn't have my phone number and put a note in their files, they hang up.

This number popped up on our business phone caller ID a few minutes ago.  Knowing 999 is not a legitimate area code, I was on guard when I answered.  The caller, no discernable accent, with a very low "whiskey voice" asked if if so-and-so, first name only [the business owner] was here.  When I said no, may I help him, he hung up.  

How the heck does someone get a phony phone number to show up in caller ID?  From all the complaints I've read online about calls from this number, this scammer, or band of scammers, seems very active indeed.  How is such a ominipresent scammer hasn't been shut down?

Not sure it was but I am on the do not call listl / opt out list and I keep getting calls from solicitors.

It's illegal to threaten to have you arrested.  Also, it's not fraudulent if the check you left with the company was post dated - which I believe this to be the case with these companies.  You have to know your rights.  These are sub-prime lenders.  They know that they are taking a chance when they lend out the money.  Ok, so I missed a payment and then called to set up the payment and was told that I was in breach of my contract...now you want to increase the fees?  Aw hell naw....it's not going to work like that.  I will pay what I owe, but not a penny more. I lost my job, got another one in a matter of weeks and while I recognize that I missed a payment, I'm at least trying to fix the problem.

Calling me from a 999- number won't fix the problem...it will get your call ignored EVERY TIME.  I hope representatives from this company frequent this site and run back to tell whomever that people are not putting up with this bull and the people who don't speak English.

Just received one of these calls today, but this time it was a recording for winning a Carnival Cruise trip with no obligation and no time share offers.  Since my phone is a cell phone, I imagine they just randomly pick the numbers.  my wife received the same call a few days ago.  Sounds like they have a list from T mobile.  Good luck, and don't answer a call from 999-999-2112

Called and a lady left a voicemail telling me to call an 800 number back.  Said it was very important.  Called 800 number back and all i got was a fast busy signal.  Call wouldnt go through. Tried more than once.  I now have this number blocked on my phone.

got a call frm this # yesterday, i didn't pick up because the # is one that i know. i am with Tmobile, since Jan 2012 and i am on the do not call list! but still get calls frm out of state #s and text frm people i don't even know!  who knows....

Ok folks, this is how it works. The phone number 999-999-2112 is not chosen by who-ever is calling you. They don't even know that number shows on your caller ID! It only indicates that the caller is using any of the different voip web sites out there to place a call over the internet via a computer! In other words, it can litterally be anyone, friend or not, anywhere in the world calling!

WHy does this 'Frank' guy keep calling my phone talking about sending a confirmation for a Western Union transaction???? He keeps asking for my email address... He calls CONSTANTLY

It's a scam they called me told me they had a grant for me for 7000 and they needed a security deposit of 300 for me to get my  grant

I keep getting calls from this number. I don't ever answer my phone if I don't know who it is. They have called me twice. Along with unknown numbers.

The man called over and over from a blocked and unknown number but then this number came up on my caller id. He left messages saying i need to call back "right now". He kept saying I won a huge amount of money and a new car but I had to get a green pack money card to pay the taxes before I could claim my prize. He called about 20 times a day for 3 days!  He said he was with Donald Trump and that his name was David Moore.

It's the Jamaicans mon! Its the same guys from the area code 876 scam. They told me I won $500,000,000 and a brand new mercedes and all I had to do was buy a $1000 green dot money card to pay the taxes. I told them I wasn't an idiot and that they were obviously scammers. They proceeded to tell me that I was an idiot and they would have sexual relations with my mother. Just block the number cuz they won't stop calling even after they threaten to rape your family.
