    looking to rent a flat
this number was sent me in an email as part of what I now hear is the western union scam.  The person who sent me this advertised a flat and said they need to know you're serious to view as they have to travel far to get there.  They said their lawyer advised them that anyone who wants to secure the flat should transfer money to a family member via western union and sent them the receipt so they could see you had the money to spend on the flat if you chose to take it.  If you do this, pretty much anyone can go along to a western union to pick up the money.  I think this is quite common in london where people are looking for reasonably priced flats, but don't be sucked in and if you see this number beware!

Well this scum sooner or later gonna ask you to transfer money for western union, "because they need a guarentee that you have the money to rent the house", they gonna say that the money can be transfer for a friend of yours, and than send the recipe to they see. The rest you know, they take your money. Beawer there are very mails like this one doing the some thing

I have been contacted in Gumtree by Celime Rossato, who was pretending to offer a place in Farringdon for 400 pounds and I should have given proof of a Western Union Payment... That would be enough for her to withdraw the money (copy of a transaction displaying the money transaction nr)!
    If Celine exists....

    :-)

    BEWARE!!!!!

Yep same - although now she is calling herself Georgina Houlden - a fashion designer from Birmingham!

Who claims she has a Lawyer but for some reason will not use the lawyer in relation to transferring money, which would be usual!

    DO NOT TRUST!!

I did not receive a call from this number, but I received a reply to my advertisement to rent a double room. The person pretended to be Celine Rossato from Birmingham - a pretty busy and rich lady with a Lawyer. The same story as described in above comments was sent to me. She asked to send 800 pounds (month's rent plus month's deposit) via Western Union to any of my family members/friends within UK. Only afterwards she said she would arrange a viewing. Eventually she gave me this phone number and asked to only text her as she couldn't pick up while at work. THANK YOU GUYS for the information on this site, fortunately I found out about this scam before sending the money.

    BEWARE!

    Hi Raul,

Since you are ready to view,i will plan my time here and make sure am there before you arrive.

The only thing is that i need double assurance, because i want to avoid traveling from Birmingham to london in vain, i can afford my fare, but i can't afford to waste my time.

My Lawyer will get a contract ready for you to sign if you like to take the room after viewing and the keys will be handed over to you immediately after contract has been signed.

Also, receipt of payment will be issued to you after which you'l have to sign the lease agreement form.

I was discussing with my Lawyer about the idea on how i will be so sure that i will not just waste my time to london without acheiving my the aim and she advised that we can work out something via Western Union Money Transfer.

She said that Western Union Money Transfer can actually hold the money as an evidence and surety that her tenant will pay her at least for the first month and deposit. She gave me an option on what we can do since you have the funds at hand which will be explained below:

    PROCEDURE:

    1) Transfer the the amount £720 (1 month rent and security deposit) to any of your family members (wife, dad, mum, siblings) or your friend.

Your name (as sender) to any of your family members (wife, dad, mum, siblings) or your friend (as Receiver) in London or other parts of UK.

    2) Scan & Send a copy of the Western Union Money Transfer transaction receipt as a proof of the transaction  or mail me the transaction details. (The money is safe as it is only you that can withdraw since you need a national ID card or International passport)

    3) Then, we will meet for viewing.

    4) If you decide to take the room, we will go to any local Western Union Money Transfer office pick up the money and pay me. (You don't need to come with cash to view, after viewing we will go together, you will cancel the transfer and withdraw the money to pay me)

    5) Keys will be handed over to you after signing the contracts.

I am pretty sure that the transaction at Western Union Money Transfer office will require some charges, i will definitely refund the transaction charges back to you upon viewing and if you don't see what i sent as pictures of my flat to you, you are free to leave without paying me anything.

I only want to be sure that i am not going to waste my time this time around and i think with this condition, both of us can be sure we are not wasting our time.

I will only rely on your honesty that you have made the transaction so that i can reserve the flat for you.

Let me know if you are okay with this so that we can proceed. Thanks so much while i will be waiting to read from you and i am looking forward to meet you and be great friends eventually.

NB: PLS DO NOT MAKE PAYMENT TO ME OR IN MY NAME, WHAT I NEED IS JUST AN EVIDENCE THAT YOU HAVE THE CASH TO PAY ONCE YOU HAVE VIEWED.

I am sorry for the lengthy mail, i only want to explain myself better. I cant receive calls at work so its best you send me a text message.

Warm regards and have a nice day.

Got an email from her today. If its to good to be true than it is not. I am looking for a place to live and posted an add on Gumtree. I google everything when I get emails from strangers on money business. Found a lot of stuff on these scams. Her name now is Khloe Sahigara khloesahigara@hotmail.com> again the fashion designer.  And I received exact the same emails.

I feel useless that there is nothing that I can do to stop this person. I work hard for my money and so does everybody else.

Oh yes! About to be conned today!! I had a reply to my gumtree advert (house wanted) the person is called ELYNA AKEMENTINA, a fashion designer from birmingham, she was left in charge of her parents proprety, as they are living in spain. In her fourth e-mail she asked me to do the western union transaction to a member of my family and scan the receipt to her. I did not think for one seconde that she is a scam, until I called western union on 0800 833 833 to ask how much they will charge me to transfer £2400 to my friend? the young lady who I spock to from western union, asked me couple of question, once I have mentioned gumtree and private rent, she advised me not to do it at all, it could be a scam!!! Thanks to her.
ELYNA AKEMENTINA, or who ever she is should be sent back to her country.

About Khloe Sahigara, mentioned above. I was looking for a room to rent and posted an ad twice with time interval on gumtree. First time received a good offer from khloesahigara@hotmail.com, which I didn`t even reply `coz it looked too good. Second time I got exactly the same offer and for 120 pounds less price! This time "Khloe`s" name was Krishna, mail: krishnaruseva@rocketmail.com. Beware. Don`t send a single pence to anyone.

     -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good to read from you again.

A lil about me : Am a 25years old fashion designer, very friendly and adventurous, I only Drink occasionaly but don't smoke, I am quiet, easy going, fun to be with and open minded.I like to keep the flat clean and tidy and would require the same too from any tenant.I am a christian by religion,my hobbies are Hiking, singing, watching soccer and going to the cinema's.

About the flat : The flat was once a family flat till my old parents acquired a new property in Spain and moved, so i have been left in charge of this flat. It is a 3 bedroom flat like i already told you, and nobody occupies the flat at the moment.

I live in Birmingham and only come around once in a while so as to keep the flat and surroundings clean. Reasons why we want to rent this place out is so that there will be a permanent occupant that will take care of the flat furnitures and keep the surroundings clean in my absence. We just need life in the flat.

At the moment we are looking to rent out just 2 of the rooms while the 3rd will be locked permanently, for my use whenever i come around.

Concerning viewing: I can only travel from Birmingham to attend to serious tenants that are ready to move in and can prove that they can pay for the first months rent and one months deposit, i don't do general viewing. I need to know that you are serious and have the money to pay before i can come down to London.

I have a tight working schedule caused by my upcoming fashion show week, which preparations are on for at the moment with my co-ordinators from New York. You can search the map for that area and what you see in the pictures are what the interior of the flat looks like.

If you feel comfortable with that let me know, if not don't bother to reply so that we won't waste eachothers time.

    Thanks and warm regards,

    Khloe

    Hi Esther,

You don't need to have anyone in London before you can have the Western Union Transfer done because the receiver will not be involved when you will be withdrawing the money.

So you just have the Western Union Transfer of 800pounds done to any name as the receiver in London and email me the copy of the transfer receipt as proof.

After we meet for viewing and you like the flat, then we will both go to any western union outlet for you to cancel the transfer as the Sender and withdraw the money to pay me.

Let me know if this is clear to you now.

    Thanks

    Khloe

    Hi Khloe,

    All sounds fine to me.

    Just a bit about myself!

I'm 25, been living and working in Leeds for a company called City Car Club. You probably haven't heard of it but we're a 'green' company who like to try and encourage environmentally friendly travel. Have a look at the website if you like www.citycarclub.co.uk.

Basically I'm moving to London with my job - the office is in N7 on North Road.

I don't know anyone in London and your room is IDEAL for me, and a great price!

I will have the money for deposit and rent and will be hopefully mmoving the weekend of the 5th of December.

I can assure you I am being totally honest and I think the flat looks beautiful.

From work tomorrow I will sort out the financial things with you and hopefully it'll be a straightforward move.

I am a very clean and tidy person and a considerate housemate to anyone else that will move in. I like to have peaceful evenings, I love to read and meditate and cook.

I also enjoy a drink every weekend or so, whever I'm off work.

I'd like to thank you for your help in my move to London and I will speak to you tomorrow!

If you need to ask me anything about myself feel free to do so.

    Kind regards,

    Esther :)

    Hi Khloe,

Just quickly read over your email, also just asked my manager for some advice as this is all quite new to me! Would it be OK if you sent me a copy of the contract so I can have a read over it?

    Thanks again

    Esther

    Hi Esther,

    PROCEDURE:

    1) Transfer the the amount £800 (1 month rent and security deposit) to any of your family members (wife, dad, mum, siblings) or your friend.

Warm regards and have a nice day.

    Hi Khloe,

Sorry I'm late getting in touch. Your room would be ideal for me and I'm planning to move to London at the start of December (I would have a months rent and a deposit to give to you). I'm thinking of the best way to do things. Maybe we can arrange a time for us to meet up and I can pay you, maybe this could be the day I actually start to move my stuff in?

My friend will be driving down to London to help me take my things (don't have much, just a TV basically and clothes and books. Oh and a laptop!)

    Is the room still available?

    Thanks

    Esther :)

    Khloe

    1) Transfer the the amount £800 (1 month rent and security deposit) to any of your family members (wife, dad, mum, siblings) or your friend.

Warm regards and have a nice day.

    Khloe

    Thanks

    Esther :)

    Hi ,

    Khloe

    Hi Khloe,

Thanks for your email. For some reason, those photos aren't loading!

I am interested in the room though, I'm going to be in London at the end of next week, perhaps we could arrange for me to view it?

    Thanks

    Hello 'Khloe'

I have been naive and I now realize this is a scam. So thank you for wasting my time trying to trick me but I'm not carrying on with this. You are a [***] [***] and well known on the internet so I wouldn't bother with this [***] anymore if I was you.

I will do everything I can to spread this around so no one can be tricked by you - you are a worthless human being.|

    Esther :)
