So why do they call people and then hang up when you answer the phone?

Why am I getting phone calls and mail from these people?

This number called me at 5:00am.  Clear violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act! Guess I will be reporting them.

Keeps calling for deceased person . Will fly to Nashua and deal with them.

y do they try to harass a 15yr old boy for a bill that he isnt legaly responsible for....and he had insurance on top of that... tryed to call them back and got nothing...

Crappy debt collector who prolly bought a bunch of unpaid medical bills for pennies on the dollar and is now trying to make a buck.  heres what you do.  If they do have a collection against you tell them to sue you.  when yuo go to court as the judge not the collections attorney for the " Debt Purchase order " if the attorney for the debt collectors doesnt furnish one or supply you with one you can ask the judge for an automatic dismissal.  An " Debt purchase order " is a series of paper work the attorney should ahve on them and 9 out of 10 dont carry it, it discloses the amount of the debt at which the collection agency bought the debt for. Since your acting as your own defense your allowed this paperwork, failure to get this is a violation of your rights under discloseurment.  I have used this before and have gotten out of 3 thus far.

Received a call today on my cell phone answering machine.  A recording asked if it is me to press #1. If not to hang up.  What would of happened if the number was not mine and the person at the other end pressed 1? By the way, I do not owe any medical bills!!!!!

866-460-2471 just called (3:36 p.m.) and left a voice message.  The message kicked in after my voice mail announcement ended:

If you are...(name) continue to listen to this message.  There will now be a three-second pause in this message.  By continuing to listen to this message, you acknowledge that you are...(name). [HOW WOULD THEY KNOW IF WE LISTEN?????]  You should not listen to this message if other people can hear it, as it contains personal and private information.  There will now be a three-second pause in this message to allow you to listen to this message in private.

This is (name that sounds like Balanced Healthcare Receivable.)  This message is from debt collector. This is an attempt to collect a debt.  Any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

Please contact our office about an important business matter at 8664602471 or if you’ve recently received correspondence from us and would like to pay on line, please go to http://bhrllc.com and click on the pay on line tab.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

I am not the named person so I will deal with it by blocking this number from calling my phone.  Problem solved.  O, this is not the first time they have called me, but this is the first message they have left.

thats crazy. i tried to call them back and got a recording asking me for my acct.. #. I dont have one they never leave that in the message after 5 minutes of waiting i hung up..

They call my house every day deferred time looking for person that who dont live in my house

Just called me saying I owe over 100,000 for medical bills when everything is covered by my insurance. Sounds like a scam to me. My mother (who is on the same insurance) had a hysterectomy and was only 50,000. I went to hospital for abdominal pain.    

This is a debt collector that attempts to collect unpaid medical bills

They send a letter saying that I owe them almost $3000  if I don't pay with in 30days they will sent me a  judgement letter,when I know my Medicaid got all my bills coverd.and the worst part is the date of the bill it's been like six months.

'Please continue to hold' ... think trying to collect $$$ from friend who DIED a YEAR AGO...

Left an automated voice message asking me to call them back. When I looked them up they're a medical debt company except I have no medical debt so they're fake.

Hi, Rick!  Does the info you supplied above in 2013 still apply today (2019)?  The laws have changed so much since 2013 for debt. Also, what should we do if the attorney is able to supply a 'debt purchase order'???

Someone (a womans voice not identified) called me today from a Washington DC tele #(202-899-2871) but wanted me to return the call to ADAM, a debt collector from Balanced Health Care Receivables, tele #866-460-2471.  Dont know who they are or why are they calling me.
BE AWARE!  There is so much scamming going on that you have to be very careful abt returning calls to people and giving them personal, confidential and any type of financial (banking) info over the phone.  BE VERY CAREFUL and CONCERNED!
