I have received calls from  phone no 00148455550134. Where is from?

I had a call from this number and when asked if I have a computer or a laptop I replied 'no' his answer to me was 'your a lying f**king [***]' when I asked to speak to a senior management he came back on the phone and pretended I just hung up!! When I pressed 1471 the number was 00148
He never gave a company name he just said computer windows United Kingdom

00148 phoned yesterday and said she was from TalkTalk and I replied that she wasn't. She said she was and I said she wasn't and then she hung up on me. This confirmed she was not from customers services. Everyone I do business with have been informed NOT to phone me, because if I want or need something I shall be in touch. I've also warned them that if they do phone I shall be changing supplier. 00148 phoned agin today and they seem to have avoided the call barring facility? Sounds like an Asian call center.

I've had 5 calls off this number in the last couple of days. When I answer the line goes dead. I have tried my last call barring facility but that just tells me it is an incomplete number and thus cannot be barred. Damn annoying having your privacy repeatedly invated by damn shysters.

This morning I had a phone-call.
A young (it sounded like) woman spoke in poor English - she told me she was from my ISP and that they had seen my router was sending error messages and that it could damage my computer.
I just checked the number she was calling from - it seems that she was based in Ghana.

Because it was a woman, I didn't shout loudly down the phone to tell them to "go away" - which I usually do - but just put the phone down.

I was a proper gent!

Call today from 00148xxxxx362 claiming to be TalkTalk technical services. Usual scam attempting to get at my details. Asian-sounding man refused to give me a number to call back at TalkTalk and hung up. Called the real Tech Services at TalkTalk who have passed this to their fraud department and blocked caller.

Similar experiences to above.  Man claiming to be from Talk Talk told me my router had an error and there would be malicious files on my computer, which he asked me to turn on. When I challenged him, he swore at me and hung up.

Received a call this morning from 00148 443 171000, didn't recognise number so left it to answerphone, no message. It looks like the answerphone is the way to go.

My wife had a call a week ago from a 00148 number. The caller had an Indian or Bangladesh acent and he claimed that our computer is at risk of an attack and that he would like my wife to help fix it. Unfortunately for him we are aware of this scam so she told him off straight away and asked not to be called again. Since that conversation we have been receiving atleast 2 time everyday from the same number and when you pickup no one talks and then beeps with an automated voice saying goodbye or goodnight. This is very annoying.  It would be great if the telecom company is able to do something about this. Also how they get people's private numbers is another thing.

Getting regular calls from an 00148 number that stop as soon as the answerphone kicks in - wish I could bar them.

I received 4 time call form above number voice was a man I cant hear clear voice I search this from net but fail to recognize

Received a call at this morning at 7.45 from a woman saying she was from BT customer Service. I replied I don't think so at this time of day and hung up. The voice was Asian sounding.

Claimed to be from BT about internet connection. This particular phone is not connected to broadband etc. Again I said I would contact BT myself. I think I will to see what action they are taking if any against impersonators.

Scam call from Asian origin claiming to be 'BT Technical Dept' and that they have noticed there have been malicious attempts to infiltrate my internet connection/PC. If you carry on they'll ask you to check your PC where they then direct you to the 'errors' . My understanding is that these 'errors' are on your PC all the time and actually do bugger all. However, this mob then ask for you to allow them access to your PC so that they can 'fix it'. Whatever you do don't let them as they'll install some malware or similar on your PC and cause you a world of problems.  Instead you should do what I do, as soon as they start I get the dog whistle and blow long and hard! For some reason they don't want to 'fix' my PC anymore after that 😈

Call from 001484479002 claiming to be from my bank regarding an international money order that had been taken from my account. They think it is a suspicious transaction. Having checked with my bank it is not as suspicious as their phone call
