This is a scam that has been going on for years.  I had a call off a foreign man who knew my name and said I had some shares in BAA,  I said I haven't but he still wanted me to confirm my address. Other phone look up websites have confirmed this number as being one where the caller offers to buy the shares for highly inflated prices due to a hostile takeover by their client. They want you to sign a confidentiality agreement as it must remain highly secret.  I had the same sort of call many years ago so knew all about it. You don't get any money for shares, in fact they ask you to pay them money to cover insurance, handling fees etc. which they say are refundable but they never are. One poor man paid over £125,000 before he decided to stop.

This caller rang asking about my shares in Lloyds Banking Group/ Halifax, adding 'do you recall the company.' I have no shares. I hung up. He rang back immediately. I told him I don't discuss my affairs on the phone, and hung up again.

SCAM re shares and hostile takeovers. Callers knew a lot of information about me and my holdings which made it plausible. Sucked in at first as caller was very knowledgeable. Obviously overseas but with a very good grasp of English Language. First caller gave name and advised a named second caller would call in a few days . Long and drawn out , annoyed with myself for almost being sucked in , unfortunately used the work YES more than once but didn’t impart any banking information. Beware callers are very skilled.

Knew my name and which shares I owned. Told them I didn't discuss such matters with cold callers and hung up.

Mark Hamilton of Handler management inc.called my husband (dead 15 years) re hostile takeover in a company he, now I, have shares in.sent me confidentiality form by email. The call was late evening, was very convincing but some info did't seem quite right

I was called by 'Jennifer' from this number today, offering me a very high price for IAG shares that I no longer have. As I had been targeted by exactly the same scam a couple of years ago, I told her that she should get an honest job, at which point she became extremely abusive until I put the phone down.

They called asking about shares my husband no longer has. Kept him on the phone for about 10 mins going round in circles about shares that have been sold and no longer about. Definitely a scam, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. I eventually put the phone on the side and let the minutes rack up. Was suspicious anyway, but an American phone number for a company based in the UK was the first red flag.
