They said they were from my computer company and there was a problem with my computer.  When I challenged them they were very offensive and swore at me.

Somebody called me today (April 12, 2015) claiming to be from Microsoft and that was something wrong with my computer. I do not have a Windows computer. I have an Apple Mac.

Don't fall for it. They put viruses on to your computer so that they can hack in to your e-mails, your online bank accounts and whatever it is you have passworded.

If they were from a company they they won't be going around being offensive towards people. It's a scam. I had one this morning at 8:12am (UK time) and these idiots dragged me out of bed as I thought it was an urgent call. I'll think twice next time!

Evil foreign pickpockets.

Told me they were from BT. I went along with this once before they wanted me to open various apps on my laptop including online banking. This time I asked if they would just like my bank details to save time. They hung up.

Claiming to be from BT - twice in three days... “your broadband will be terminated “ - did not listen any further as my broadband works ok.
According to 1471 the call came from 00208 5771851, caller has a gruff American accent.

For  a week or two now I get these calls, sometimes 3 or 4 a day, starting at 8.00 in the morning.  When I see the number on the phone screen I either don't pick up, or pick up and lout the receiver down again immediately.  From my latest phone bill it appears they can charge my number because I certainly haven't called them.
