I got the same message today (8th Nov 08). The call-back number number is in Austria.  I'ts got SCAM written all over it.

We recieved this call at 05:57. Hope it can be traced and does anyone know yet how much this will cost if you are fooled into calling?

Same as the rest  - but in this day and age how can the regulators continue to allow such scams. These scams are criminal and as ever will often hurt the group least able to protect themselves. I think we al know that if there was the will then the life of these criminals could be made much harder. Park on double yellow lines and we all know how quickly the authorities respond. Give them a more complex task and watch them take the easy option. Their response to us I am sure would be "you don't understand, it is far more complex...." Finally if there is money involved then it has to come via a telephone operator and therefore must be banked. I run a small business and recently paid in a cheque over £10k that was paid to me by one of the world's largest companies. My bank rang me up and under the rules of 'money laundering' wanted more information about the payment. I once heard that telephone fees are paid at the end of the month - if they were paid 3 months in arrears then this would give the authorities and the banks the facility to withhold money. All this said look at the regulation of the banks themselves - if ever there were a cause to say 'the lunatics are truly running the asylum'.

Just checked and it seems you can send text like this out in bulk from a computer and show any number you want as the number it was sent from, so it may not have come from any of the mobile numbers shown. That is maybe why so many different numbers are used.

I got a call this morning but didn't dare phone it back.  I was wondering if anybody knew what they gain from these messages.

Clearly a scam, does anyone know how much you are charged if you all the number?

My hubby got a txt from this number this morning , he was asleep + didnt c it till 2nite , he didnt have a clue wot it woz about then i remembered seeing something about this on Crimewatch , it definatly is a SCAM ! I wonder how many people gave in + rang them tho. SCUM IS THE WORD ID USE.

yes i received this text whilst coincidentally waiting for a delivery too, i didn't bother to ring the number as i have heard of this scam befroe.

I think someone tries to make money of people calling there.... so dont!
