This telephone number is being used by City Mobile Direct Ltd, who's registerde office appears to be 24 GREAT KING STREET, EDINBURGH, EH3 6QN
The pone call I received with this number as the return on 1471 was an international call from INDIA.
The company uses automatic dialler software so you may receive several dead calls before an agent is available to be sent the answer.
When I asked the persons name they gave JOHN ANDERSON, clearly wasn't there true name by the accent alone. They also gave me their true tyelephone number as 0871 4242540, which I have NOT verified.

It is worthwhile telling them you are registered for the Telephone Preference Service and telling them they are committing an offence by ringing you.

Further research indicated that this company is known for it's MOBILE PHONE SCAMS and FRAUDULENT ativities in the past.
I would seriously suggest just hanging up on this caller after you have asked them to remove your numbher from their database.

Very strange as i was given this number to call by jobcentre plus to arrange an interview it seems an odd number so i thought id google it first an all ive found is complaints of phone scams. Im going to call this number in the morning just to see whats what

I have seen this number on a Governement Job Centre (UK) job details sheet in the past and just spotted it on a completely unrelated Job Centre (well jobseeeker.direct.gov.uk website) job listing.  I feel that it is likely to be a dummy place-holder in that circumstance. (See post -2 from here!) In the specimen I see before me there is a company name listed that yields a company with an address and phone number in an area matching the location encoded in the reference number but how they expect to get applicants with duff contact data astounds me...

I had a couple of calls from this number as well and thought it was perhaps telemarketers so didn't pick up. Shortly after I received a rather irate message from sister wanting to know why I wasn't picking up her calls despite expecting to hear from her. Apparently she was using Skype to make the calls and for some reason, this is the caller ID projected for some of their calls...

Just got a call from this. I am signed up with the TPS. This pisses me off, they should not be allowed to do this.

I just received a call from this number and the person tells me that my number has been selected to get discounts on a 1000 shops around south africa and then asked when do i do my shopping and i said month end. I had a bad feeling about it call the caller just ended the call immediately after i told her when i do my shopping. Please someone help

Called several times over the past few days, thought it a weird number. Finally picked up and told them in no uncertain terms to remove my number from their database. Didn't even give them a chance to talk.
