Scam for Halifax as far as I can tell

Hi it's no scam it's the number you call when you have a problem with your online banking with Halifax.

Yes, it appears on the Halifax list at http://www.halifax.co.uk/contactus/callus.asp        The only remaining question is why would it be calling someone who was not expecting to hear from that number?

This is a scam, we have an account with RBS but never set up online banking, I got a message saying a recipient was added. When I called the number they took my surname and postcode, but then claimed they couldn't find the details. The gentleman then asked for the sort code and account number. I hung up. As no bank will ask for those details over the phone to locate a bank account

This number is the automatic number that calls you to give you a code when you request a password reset from rbs/ Lloyd's/ Halifax etc.

It is Halifax. It says that I have changed my telephone banking numbers. I did not so was surprised to received this message. After discussion with Halifax they concluded that a customer must have entered my telephone number by mistake.

This number is apparently a genuine Halifax bank number but is bring used to scam. It sent me a text saying I  was overdrawn and to put money in my account. I knew I wasn't. However, when I checked my account over  £200 has been debited to my account that day but later returned. The next day I get another text saying I'm nearly overdrawn again. I'm not. On other sites people have reported this as a scam and it obviously is. But one person said that when they told Halifax they said "a customer must have text you by mistake". This is drivel, of course. This number is dangerous and you should check with the Halifax /RBS/ or Lloyds before phoning it. Also, Halifax themselves never contacted me to tell me this money had been removed and later returned. Unacceptable all round.
