Was informed by the caller that I had been overcharged on my electrical appliances. When asked which ones, I was told washing machine etc., said I had been overcharged £149. I said I don’t think so, and then he said sorry, and said goodbye. The next step would have been to ask for my details to refund this fictitious amount. It sounds similar to the Amazon scam.

Scam caller offering a refund on an overpayment for a kitchen appliance purchase. Looking to get bank details etc. called him out after 5mins and he hung up

Same scam last week, said I was due a £149 refund on washing machine insurance.asked about bank details,
I told him to pay it into my account it came out of in the first place….he hung up and rang again today!!!!

Caller said we had been overcharged by £149 on an appliance. Realised it was a scam so said no thank you and put phone down

I was told by a foreign accent person is name was" Kevin " that I was owed money for a overcharge on my electric appliance. As he is the fourth person to try and scam me, I told him that this is getting like I am being stalked by the same scam. I proceeded to tell him that he was disgusting, he put the phone down. I have had three other calls with the same scam all trying it on.

Just hung up when I answered

Want to refund ‘overcharged £149’ and want to know 16 digit card number. I asked him for his 16 digit card number; said he couldn’t give it, said his 3 digit number is 123 and that I don’t need his card expiry date. Refund of £149 for appliance insurance over charge asked which card to refund me I told her I have 15 cards…….which one did I use …..??….the one you paid she said …
You tell me ….which card …as I just pull any card out and use ……She didn’t like that reply …..bye

I asked which appliance he was referring to  he said Hotpoint washing machine  . I told him I had got rid of that  10 years ago ,, he hung up

I was told I was due a refund of£149 from the purchase of a Washing Machine. He was almost rude in asking if I wanted the £149. I was very suspicious, kept asking questions, and was then put on to his 'Supervisor'. Eventually, as he could tell I was very wary, he hung up.
