- Bi-PolarPete01273091000 called me today (08/02/20) @ 1800 hrs. Silence then a brief burst of noise then the call ended.
How dare they phone me at this time on a Saturday.
Also I'm on the TPS Register so they shouldn't be calling me anyway. IAC - I'm not going to be doing business with a company that flout the TPS rules like this; I think I know what sort of outfit they are.
And I certainly won't be calling them back any time soon.
Grrrr.
Call Type: Probable Scam (marked as Prank until I know for sure).
Update: According to another website; the call is the Washing Machine Warranty SCAM. So anyone else getting a call from them BEWARE!!!- Caller: ?????

- johnCaller tried to persuade me that I had an expired insurance policy on my washing machine. Clearly a scam as
I don't even have a washing machine and have never owned one.- Call type: Scam suspicion
- D.T.Although I did not answer this call I suspected it was like all other calls from 01273 numbers about white good insurance or Sky Protect.

- JamesThey called and asked for me by surname claiming that warrantee on my Sky equipment had expired. I told them that i did appreciate the COLD CALL and they had no idea what equipment we had as don’t have Sky. They said that it may have been some time ago. I said that there has been no Sky at this address in 20 years and they are talking out of their [***] before hanging up on them. Actually if Sky was EVER at this address it was under a different surname so definitely a phishing expedition

- Scam BusterWashing machine warranty scam call. I played with them for a while, and asked for the £700 lifetime cover. When they put me through to an next guy I asked if anyone had ever fallen for this 'sales' tactic and he said he assumed I wouldn’t be wanting the cover, and wouldn’t waste my time anymore. I said he wasn’t wasting my time as I found it all quite entertaining. I told him to get a real job, and asked him how he could sleep with what he is doing - especially to elderly people. His name was Tom. Sounds like a Indian person makes the call.

- Bi-PolarPete01273091000 called me again on the 15/2/20 @ 12:05. The woman on the other end of the line said my Washing Machine and Fridge Freezer were out of warranty. I told her they weren't. I think she said the company was called "Appliance Protect". I suggested to her that this was a scam but she insisted it wasn't.
At the time I didn't realise they'd phoned before and hung up on me without saying anything otherwise I'd have mentioned it to her.
I'd like to know where they got my number from as I'm on the TPS Register, so they shouldn't be calling me anyway.
Call Type: Definite Scam.

- AnonymousSo it's not just scam car warranties we have to worry about now?
- DeaconThese clowns have been calling me for years claiming that the warranty had expired on various white goods (some of which I haven't even got). I try to keep them on the 'phone for as long as possible - firstly to delay them from calling someone else (who may fall for the scam) and secondly just for a laugh!
- Caller: White goods Scammers.
