Called me at 5.15 am on a Sunday then stopped. Just got back to sleep and they called again. Really annoying !!!!!

It is the Royal Infimary of Edinburgh.  They all begin with 0131 242 xxxx.  This number in particular does not take external calls.

It is the Royal infirmary of Edinburgh I answered the call as I am waiting to hear from them it's a research team funded by Tommys charity in regards to pregnancy and having a bmi of over 38 for myself but I think it's a obesity/well being clinic also.

started getting calls from this number, looked it up and saw this page. Looked into it a bit further according to the telephone list for QMRI (edin' royal inf') it's from

Done some checking. it is QMRI, but the number is wrong. The phone system seems to default to a wrong number or a random number.the person who called me did not phone from this phone number,

it is the main out going no from EDINBURGH ROYAL you will not be able to phone it back because it could be coming from any dept, outpatients clinics, A&E, etc. If it is urgent they will leave a message and a no for you to call them back on and get the right dept.

Its the out of hours medical team [NHS Scotland] doing a follow up to any medical test you may have had  although it may be some brainless numpties using the same number through a different exchange via overseas line

What if someone on that number informs you about an appointment, but you didn't get all the details and want to check it? Where do you call?

This number called and got my landline answerphone. They did not leave a message.

If it was a legitimate call - they would leave a message!

This is a generic presentation number for the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and could come from any extension. It is likely to be medical staff attempting to contact you.

This number has been phoning my landline (which unfortunately doesn't work) about every 20 mins for the last 2 days. When I got the phone working again I answered and this Scottish lady demanded to know who I was?! When I explained I think she had the wrong number some nurse then made it a three way convo and apologised. Weird!

Without confirming your info they won't be able to leave any message as it could breach data protection laws.

My parents received a call from this number, to sell them a device that blocks nuisance calls(!) - unfortunately, and despite continuous warnings, my dad gave them his bank card number.   I'm now very anxious, as is he. I tried to call back but the line doesn't accept incoming calls - a female voice on the reply message though.

Missed call on my mobile, no message. Was at the ERI outpatients clinic earlier in the day with my elderly mum so am thinking the two are linked???

I got a call from this number and the other side just hangs up I understand it's the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, I am submitting a complain today on this email craft@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk
I would like to know how they got my number.

I am for ever getting calls from this number, they never leave a msg and a phone no I can return the call to. Having a critical illness that extremely slows me down, and apparently it coming from the Edinburgh royal infirmary. Should this be allowed.
