Isn't this illegal? The law requires Bailiff firms to act in adherence to a very strict code. This seems like blatant fraud.

You can report these guys to the County Court they are licensed by and also complain to their regulating authority - this misleading and fraudulent behavior is illegal!

I was almost tempted to call as I was waiting for a parcel from abroad anyway.  However, upon closer inspection I realised it had been posted with the post which firstly is strange if someone has tried to deliver something and secondly, there was no name on the front just my address.  It seems it is JBW as I do have an outstanding debt with them but I will not be calling them as I have already been in touch with their customer services detailing my circumstances and still they send me this!  I believe this is or at least should be illegal as they are using DHL (most probably paying them some premium) to trick people into calling.  I will be reporting this to Watchdog and even if you havn't got a debt with them I suggest you all do the same as surely this can't be normal practice by law for these debt collection companies?!

    Not Happy
Received a card in the post as regards to a missed DHL delivery. I became suspicious at once as I am not waiting for a delivery of any kind. So I googled the telephone number & address to find it is infact a debt recovery company JBW. My partner forgot all about a parking fine he had from December 2010 & they have been chasing him for payment, but now paid in full, yet still chasing the balance!!! He quieried the ticket at first & didn't hear back until these little people turned up at our front door at 6.50am, kept their finger on our door bell & scared the life out of our little girl. They just posted the letter & added a couple of hundred quid for coming to our door, low life's!! They didn't even send us a letter prior to this visit, just turned up!!

I had a card through the door claiming to be from DHL, asking me to call regarding an urgent delivery.  Ansaphone on Saturday identified the co.as JBL. No idea why I received card. Property is rented, perhaps a previous tenant? I' ll report to trading standards and DHL. And the police should they show up! Thank-you for this site, essential consumer information.

Got the 'DHL' card - it is from JBW group as identified above. Relates to a parking fine for a car incorrectly registered to my address - postcode error on log book. Cannot get them to stop contacting me - nothing works even though I know where the car and owner live!

    Slightly peeved
I have also received this card yesterday and numerous letters in the past, I searched for them online and sent them an email to stop harassing us as the person named on the letters hasn't lived here for months and I assume his car is still registered at this address. I think the activity JBW partake in is highly unethical, any self respecting debt company should check all available records to them. To ascertain as to who is registered at a certain address. IE electrol roll, utility companies, Council Tax. If I receive any more letters I'm contacting the Ombudsman as this has gone on far too long. I am not going to respond to a nameless card, but I am keeping this as evidence. FYI JBW, luckily I am not in a position of debt and don't appreciate being treated as such. Check your F'in records!

My elderly (late 70's) neighbour received one of these cards from FDM Priority Mail (who appear to be a mailing company used by JBW Group Limiited). He tried ringing the number given three times but got no reply, only music. He thought it might be about an incorrectly addressed parcel. I did a check for him on my computer and found the information about JBW (jbwgroup.co.uk) using the company registration number given on the card, from the Companies House Webcheck service. I then looked for the FDM Priority Mail service which seems to be Findlay Direct Marketing (findlay.co.uk). I then ran a check on the phone number given on the card and arrived at this website. I reported what I had discovered back to my neighbour, who then told me that one of his sons, who does not live at my neighbour's address, possibly had some unpaid parking fines and he would speak to him about it. I do think that JBW should check the Electoral Rolls before sending out their cards, as their practices could cause a lot of unnecessary distress to people. I recommend that you do not ring the number given on the card as you will be wasting your money. If you are an innocent party and wish to stop continued mailings etc, I suggest you write to the address given, using Recorded Delivery, and explain the situation. If you owe anybody any money, then you need to deal with it as necessary, using the address given on the card.

I also received this one today (it says I missed the delivery, but I was at home, they simply dropped the letter and gone) and I have not received any parking tickets so far, so no question of paying them. I have called up the JBW group just to see if there is some issue I am unaware of and they asked me for some reference number and I said I don't have any, then they disconnected the call. should I simply ignore this? I am the tenant and moved into the property only six months back, so the letter could be for the previous tenant. there is no name on the letter.

This website       http://www.ensas.org.uk/membersearch.asp?action=displayall    will give you their other phone number, web address and direct personal email address - just scroll down til you come across the same PO Box number and Post Code which is about half way down the page. Incidentally, for anyone who wishes to send a letter to them you used to be able to get hold of a full address that is hiding behind a PO Box address direct from the Post Office under the Freedom of Information Act with no charge or obligation to leave your own details. Its possible that the ruling may have changed now and I obviously cannot advocate the baseball bat brigade but if you want to get your own back legally then you could try that. Maybe a Solicitors letter will stop you being hassled?
