Caller selling things on the pretense of crime prevention - they seem to be an alarm compmany
claim all calls are recorded by trading standards, when questioned on this they haung up

caller hang up but I believe it could be a Paisley security company

Boiler house call. Asian accent, quoted wrong name, said sorry [that's unusual] then hung-up.

Received call from this number although now calling it back there is no reply (altough its still listed in YELL.com as UK Protect Security Ltd)  Strangely though I also got a call from 01418890750 and they said they were UK Protect!  Story was they were in the area giving out crime awareness advice and have a limited number of security devices they can install free of charge.

Had call today saying that my security alarm system was outdated and ineffective as police no longer respond to house alarms. Caller said my house may qualify for a wireless system to be installed free and if so I would receive a call from his manager. If I didn't get a call I didn't qualify. He didn't ask anything about my alarm system!
Manager called about 10 minutes later saying I did qualify. The system is wireless costs £2000 with additional installation cost of £4oo. I asked who was funding this he said his company were and from the installation at my house they expected to get 6 systems which would be paid for. He then said there was a 1 off monitoring cost to be decided when his rep called at the house. He suggested in the next half hour! I said that was not convenient. Said my partner and I are both unemployed so any cost needed to be just a few ££s. Guess what? He terminated the call!!! Must try that one again.

SECOND PHONE CALL ONLY 10 MINUTES LATER SAID THEY JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THE AREA AND WOULD CALL WITH THIS MAGINFIACNT OFFER - SHOULD COST £2000 PLUS £400 INSTALLATION BUT I WOULD GET IT FREE, MAY BE MONITORING CHARGES LATER BUT I COULD SAY NO TO THAT IF I WISHED - I SAID NO TO TODAY AND NO TO TOMORROW - QUITE PUSHY BUT POLITE TO BE HONEST
JUST SOUNDS DODGY!

phone call today from mobile followed up by above number......my number is ex directory and when questioned said they got it from national database..further questions by me and they hung up.  Allegedly installing free security alarms.!!!!!!
