Recorded message ("stilted" - clearly English wss not the caller's first language) puporting to be from "Bank Security Depatment")  There had seemingly been 2 charges to my account.  Th first was from Amazon for around £400; the second and international funds transfer amounting to £1100.  I should press 1 to confirm or 2 to speak to "bank security".  I replaced the receiver but dialing 1471 indicated that the call came from the above numbet.  01422 is our local (UK) area code and the six figure series starting "84...." is one of series of district/subscriber identifiers seemingly designed to give what is clearly a scam the appearance of legitimacy.  We had a similar call about a week ago but the number then was 01422848681.  Again I replaced the receiver but a 1471 "ringback" indicated that the number did not exist.
