- I blame the parentsReceived a call from this number. I rang back using 141 to withold my number and the recorded message says I had been called by Orange. I see some are posting comments suggesting that Orange know nothing about this.

- Telecoms Consultant| 1 replyGot many calls from this number. Claim to be Orange. I'm not so sure. Offering me an increase in broadband speed if I take their fixed line service. I challenged this. Very convincing sales response. Note that Orange uses BT Wholesale for its broadband network as Orange no longer has its own. Claiming to increase my data speed by moving from a previous technology (ADSL+) to ADSL2+. Yes this would increase speed but technically a little bit, no need to migrate a fixed line service to get higher speed. I got suspicious when they could not tell me exactly what technology my Orange service is currently on. A device in the exchange called a DSLAM splits the voice and the broadband data, the later goes to the ISP. They claim it will be purely admin and a transparent change to me although the first 10 days would see speed variations due to the new line rate-adapting (technically true again). I'm still investigating this and have been in contact with Ofcom. I will also call Orange to see their view. No account details have been shared. I'm suspecting this could be talk-talk (they got a £3m fine last year for mis-selling) - they will be getting another fine if I find its them! You can always tell if the caller is a telemarketer as there is a brief pause between answering the call (breaking ringing) and an agent appearing on the line - they are using a PowerDialler (loads of numbers are fed into a server to auto dial) and when the call is answered its switched to a call centre agent. Just hang up during that brief silence; actually silent calls are illegal in the UK - another fine for that could be due too!
- Caller: Orange? Talk-Talk? Other?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Potlicker| 2 repliesGot a call from this number on my mobile on 7th June at 13.04. I normally dont answer calls from numbers I dont have in my contacts but heyho. Said they were from Orange wanting to discuss my broadband, could do me a better deal etc etc. Told them I could hardly hear them as the line was bad and they said would call back on a better line.
They did try and call back but I didn't answer this time and added them to my blocked list.- Caller: Said they were Orange
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Techno replies to Potlicker| 1 replyI'm lucky....Just two calls over the last week....I'm ex-dir....So it's obviously an automated system.
Damn pests.....Never get a message on the ans/phone.....Good !
Time for blocking methinks ! - Techno replies to TechnoAfter a call a day for the last week or so....and leaving it for the ansaphone to discourage them, I eventually picked up yesterday.
Claimed they were Orange....From previous 'mailers' comments....I didn't believe them...Told them to send me something in the post...."Oh No !....We have to talk to you about it.".....As politely as I could, as they were so pushy, I told them to 'go away...and not call back'...We'll see what happens.
If they call back again, I'll contact Orange to check if it really IS them....And hopefully get them to cease.
Otherwise it'll be leave them listening to the radio for a while. - GerardHave had numerous missed calls from this number over the last week. I eventually answered a call and spoke to "Wayne" who stated he was from Orange. Having already read the posts for this number I immediately challenged him to confirm he was from Orange and not Talk-Talk. He was adamant that he was calling from Orange Broadband, but then went on talking about my landline and how many calls I made. I asked him why this was relevant to my Broadband, and he stated that he wanted to get me the best call package. I explained about the posts I had read and got him to confirm who he really was, but he continued to state he was from Orange. I said that if he was, he would know my address details and could post the offer out to me. He politely said that he would do this and rung off.......
- Caller: Orange ???
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MarianneAnother target for this ludicrous hassling here! Started 3 days ago - I too get several calls a day. No one speaks, not a sound. Something needs to be done about this! It is like a mosquito you can't see to swat! Really, with the busy lives people lead it is just utterly pointless nuisance from people who obviously have none.
- Martin replies to Telecoms ConsultantThis is not Orange.
I have been told by Orange that the only number they use is:
07973 100194 and that this is the only genuine number. - Martin01482489776 is not a genuine Orange number.
This number is currently being investigated by Orange itself.
However, even though I have complained to TPS and Orange we are still getting calls and in the past when we answered this fake company they were very rude. Luckily we now have caller display.
Orange only use 07973 100194.- Caller: Not Orange

- Pandora1962Yes, they are at it again 01482489776 such a pest!
When you call the number it says it is from Orange and there is nothing to worry about as they will call me at a later date! Our broadband is with Orange so now I don't know if its a genuine call.- Caller: Orange
- HadenuffThis number keeps calling!!!! Had enough!!
I did answer no one spoke so put phone down.
Have not got time in my day for these time wasters!!!!!! - Martin| 1 replyThis number is a call centre in Hull that deals with several customers I believe. I have just contacted Talk Talk to see if it is them even though they call themselves Orange.
IT IS A COMPANY CALLED CLEARANSWER calling on behalf of several customers. It is this call centre that could be the problem and which should be reported.
I contacted Talk Talk because someone thought it was them. I contacted them on a different email address not connected with my broadband and yet Talk Talk claim to have identified my email address and at what time I was contacted.
HOW IF I DIDN'T GIVE THEM MY EMAIL ADDRESS????!!!!- Caller: Not Orange Broadband but CLEAR ANSWER
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Rob replies to MartinMore timewasting calls from these people - 3 today. No one ever speaks, so I never pick up.
- MichelI get at least 2 calls a day. One around noon and one later in the afternoon. They never leave a message.
- mikerophone| 3 repliesHey I'm one of the annoying people that calls you from this number lol. To all the people saying it's not Orange it is? Why are you so susspicious? We arn't among you for any personal information because we already have it haha your a customer with us? And to the person who says the calls are pointless because people can make up their own minds and decide when to switch well this is not true for everyone. In our office we have 4 small teams and each month we sign up over 3000 customers who would not of bothered tochange their landline services accross to us if we hadn't of called. If you have your landline service seperate with another provider I would say at least 90% of the time you are paying more than you have to. The people I work with are nice so take the time to listen to them and we could save you money :). It only takes 2 minutes and the reason we call back is.only if you don't answer or.you say your not interested? How can you complain about receiving calls when you can't even be bothered to let us know that your happy with you current set up? Amway that's all I have to say just answer the phone if it is annoyi-g you and let us know. It's only a phone call which will probably benifit you so why are you all so.scared?? Lol.
- Caller: Orange
- Call type: Text message
- Tam replies to mikerophone| 2 repliesSorry, do not believe that you are an Orange employee. The grammar and spelling are not those of a communication person. No one is "scared" of such calls. There is simply an increasing resentment in regard to people and Companies who seem to believe that it is their God given right to make unsolicited calls.
- mikerophone replies to TamA communication person? Lol. That's great use of grammer. I was on a bus alright lol it's hard to write on a bus and yes I am. And I'm not at work now am I so does it really matter? I'm messaging someone who I don't know on the internet who has nothing better to do than [***] about some calls which could be stopped if you just answered the phone and had a 30 second conversation. And if you could be bothered to listen I would say there's a good chance you would end up paying less and receive a better service!
- Mikerophone replies to TamAre you with Orange btw? If you are and want proof I can call you tommorrow from work and see if you would actually save any money with us lol. It would be an interesting experiment lol and I'm sure people on here would be interested to hear what happened? Why not lol. You need to already have Orange broadband though. It's up to you. Of course I need your landline number and a time to call but it's up to you if you will give that out on here? Just an idea but I'm confident we could save you money :P. Especially if you have your landline with BT. Anyway it's up to you :). If your kool with that send you first name landline number and a time to call and I'll try to save you some money. Btw we work between 11:00 and 20:00. Accept my challenge or are you scared ;) lol
