    i was given this number by hsbc as a contact number for royal and sun alliance. a direct debit has been set up and money taken from my account. i dont recall having set up a direct debit to royal and sun alliance.  when i rang this number no one answered and no answerphone message was available

    The exact same thing has just happened to me, I noticed it on my bank statement, now fraud team are on it.

    Just giving you all an update, rang Natwest, spoke to the fraud squad and they say that this happens all the time with this companys name with that phone number. Not just to people but also to large buisness's too.

    I have been ripped off £160.00 in total from lots of small direct debit charges on the 11th of every month. Ive been told that the money will be back in my account by 6pm tonight so all is not lost.

    was given this number by lloyds tsb as a contact number for royal sun alliance. a direct debit was set up on my account with a reference number. no answer when i called the number. Spotted the dd in time before any money was taken. A prime example of the need to check your statements regularly my friends.

    I just googled 'RSA taken money from my account' & this popped up, will ring my bank tomorrow & get it stopped & refunded!! Thank u all, thought I was going mad!! X

    I have just had the same thing happen. It looks like a fob off to Royal and Sun Alliance. I wonder why they're not taking action against the scammers.

    Anyways - our bank will be informed and hopefully get the DD cancelled and the debit refunded

    Same again, buggers have had £690 off me since Feb. oneaccount said they will have it back in my account by 10am Monday.

    Gonna be checking my statements more regularly from now on!

    I never heard about that company and somehow they took acces to my account and set DD and took 10.95!

    Immediately CALLed Lloyds tsb 0845 3000 116 go through to advisor. They put me to Fraud team and they cancelled direct debit and will refund money!!!! Dont try to call that crap Royal something they will never answer!!!

    Just come home from holiday check my bank and saw a new dd had been set up? phoned bank and they gave me a number to call just ringing no answer.
    So i have cancelled DD i will phone RSA tomorrow on there customer services and give them Ref no and see what it refers to????

    Hi all

    I noticed this direct debit,we have pet insurance with Argos and the underwriters have moved it to RSA, so they have changed the direct debit to this. I wasn't aware of this but it is in the renewal documents apparently.

    They should have been more clear about it and I am not sure why the number given as above just rings. very strange.

    Same here, read the thread and was just about to get the DDs cancelled and refunded when I saw the message about Argos pet insurance which I also have. It all adds up now.


    Perhaps the other people who cancelled forgot about some kind of insurance that they bought from company X but was switched over on renewal to RSA?

    Don't be too quick to cancel or you might not be covered

    Argos pet insurance is now royal sun alliance insurance plc - I was going to canel too after trying the phone number 01512244850 a number of times with no reply but after check my pet insurance paperwork i was wrong - Hope this helps
