Silence, then an upper-class sounding woman started going on about solar panels. Although it sounded as if the person was actually speaking to me, I very strongly suspect that it was a set of clever recordings. Whenever I asked a question she just carried on talking, Then she would stop, and give an oblique answer to my questions. She made comments like Am I speaking to the house owner? She talked about saving 50% on electricity bills. She said a professional surveyor would only take half an hour to assess if my roof would take panels. I asked several times where she had got my number from. She obviously had no idea of my name or address. Eventually she said she had obtained my phone number from a reliable listing service. I pointed out that I had been on the Do Not Call register for over 30 years and that she could not have obtained my number legally. The voice then apologised. I asked several times which company she worked for. She did not answer and the line went dead.
