No idea but they called my mobile yesterday 8pm - off to see if I can find out who they are!

Hmm, can't find anything on them other than that the area code is Leighton Buzzard.

Swetenhams estate agents.  They just phoned me.  01525383406 must be a national number, but it was the local office calling me.

Called me twice today, when I answered they cut off. I just googled Swetenhams - I am nowhere near them...I'm in Coventry!

It's Sequence Estate agents - nationwide company with lots of local agents under different names, so if you've looked at a property in the last few weeks (months) in your local area, this is the agent calling you back - although why it comes up from a central phone number when it's local agent ringing you I have no idea! I'm in Cardiff, and have just had a phonecall from my local agent on this number. Listed agents for Sequence who may use this number are:

Ive rang this number back and reference to estate agents they answered the phone with connells sequence group. I currently have my house on the market but not with connells

I just had an odd phone call from someone calling themselves James from William H Brown – except it wasn’t the James from William H Brown I am dealing with!

The number that came up on my phone was 01525 383406 and when I queried who he was as it wasn’t a local number or number I recognised he said he was from William H Brown in Leighton Buzzard.

When I asked him why he was calling me from Leighton Buzzard he said ‘our head office is in Leighton Buzzard and I am updating our records’ but I didn’t think they have a head office, I thought they were all franchises?

He wanted to know how my property search was going and I told him I’m dealing with William H Brown in Hoddesdon and that my house isn’t sold so I am not in a position to do a property search.  If he was from William H Brown then he would surely know that?

He then said ‘oh I haven’t got your first name on my records, what is it?’  At this point I told him that I didn’t know who he was and that his call was bothering me as I didn’t think it was genuine and refused to give him my name.

He then wished me well in my property search and ended the call.

It seems like a scam to me, but don’t think people should be going around pretending to be someone else!  I was a bit worried by it.

I have blocked the number now.
