- MattIt may be interesting if you could look into this:
This name and company do silent calls from the UK to customers in the UK:
Mohammed Hoque
Versatile Mobile Ltd
Name & Registered Office:
VERSATILE MOBILE LIMITED

MANCHESTER

ENGLAND

according to other posts Mohammed Hoque registered Versatile Mobile Ltd . This company calls to sell PPI to customers using marketing calls and silent calls (where unsuspecting users return the call to, thus making it legal for them to mislead into marketing or PPI claims).
According to posts on the web and subject to confirmation, Mohammed Hoque appears to be the same Mohammed Monir Ul Hoque who works for Customer services assistance at Lloyds Banking Group.
It wouldn't be a bad idea if the FSA and Lloyds investigated how Data from Lloyds may be used by their employees in other parallel companies set up by them.
Please let us know the outcome- Caller: Versatile Mobile Ltd
- GerenI've had five calls from this company. First one, I answered, listened to a few seconds of sales spiel and hung up. Three that rang off before I could answer and the last one, yesterday, where I had to battle with persistent rudeness before finally requesting that they never phone me again and hanging up on them. Given that I was at work, surrounded by colleagues and students at this point, it was stressful and embarrassing.
- Simone WalkerJust had a call to my mobile at 10.53am. I rarely give my mobile number out. Showed as an unknown caller but not a hidden number so I could see it was from 0161 212 7801 (Manchester base is 0161). They asked for me and knew my 1st name and surname. I asked who it was and he said Versatile (meant nothing to me), when asked how he got my number....he hung up!
- Caller: Versatile
- Jamie MacDonaldRing me constantly.
- A FieldingVirtually every day this number rings my mobile. The call is silent, then Goodbye is said. Today it was totally silent, it is driving me mad. I would love it to stop.

- CRAZYPHONED TODAY--SAID MY PENSION WAS FROZEN??? SAID I HAD NEVER HERD OF COMPANY "SOMETHING PENSIONS" HUNG UP SCAMMERS
- Ed| 1 replySaid that they could upgrade my plan and wanted personal information about my account. When they asked for too much information for data protection purposes (of course), I told them that I would not give any more information and they argued back and forth with me for about 5 minutes before hanging up. It was clear to me at some point that this was not a company that I should be trusting. They had no information about me except for my phone number an that I was with o2.
- Caller: Elite Content for o2
- Bezz replies to ComedianThey told me they were from Elite - affiliated with Carphone Warehouse and my service provider and they could save me money, but didn't know how much I was paying and could not access that information - it's amazing that Carphone warehouse can !!
- GeorgiaTried to contact me yesterday and today as well as a few times in the past. At the time I was expecting a company to call back who I'd recently sent a job application off to so you can imagine the look on my face when it's a scam caller! I didn't answer because I didn't want them to log my phone number as an active number and continue to call but I did check on here and thanks to everyone else's complains I will not be picking up the phone to these conmen. It is tempting to play a little game with them though...:P

- StuGot a call from this number just now on my mobile, said he was calling regarding my O2 mobile contract... funny, I've not been with O2 for about 5 years.
Told him I've not got an O2 mobile and not to call me again.- Caller: O2 mobile

- JenWhen i answered the lady seemed almost caught off guard that i actually had answered, she said she was calling on behalf of o2 and wanted to offer me a better contract as i was due for an upgrade. The fact she wasn't actually from o2 and calling on their behalf instantly made me think maybe it was a scam. She had no idea what phone i had or contract or the fact that my two year contract ended at least two years ago and i'm now on a one month rolling contract. I even asked her why she would ring and offer me double the free mins i have now plus internet that i don't have on my current contract for a pound less than i pay now and i never really got an answer. Whatever they offer you if you answer i wouldn't accept if i were you, seems dodgy.
- tkJust had a call from Natalie (proper Manchester accent) from this number.
They rang me several times over the last few days, so decided to finally answer.
She said "You've been with o2 a long time now" (true).....and said that she could magic my bill around and send me out a new phone upgrade today! What a service!!!
Oh, wait. no......said that I was in work and I'd call o2 back later when I could talk...immediately she hung up!
If they ring me again I think I'll change my accent and name several times during the conversation, and end each sentence with the word "snapple".....just for my own amusement.....snapple.- Call type: Telemarketer
- CATHave just been called by this number for the third time today. Fortunately I now have it blocked. On the first call I found out that it was a company called VERSATILE FINANCE. They were calling about ppi insurance. When I asked how they got hold of my details they said it was from the government. They have a database of all people who have ever applied for a loan. WHAT LIES. I told them that I had never had a loan and they told me I must be lying as the government is always right. How stupid do they think I am?

- PBear replies to EdThis happened to me to, they said they where calling from O2 (my service provider) I just basically told them I don't take sales calls at work, had to repeat this several times before they got the hint. I work in sales myself, so I know it wasn't they way to handle customers!
- DAAs mentioned by several before, I've had probably about 30 calls over the past 2 weeks from this number and a withheld number. I've answered several, let others just ring out. All I spoke to claiming to be working on behalf of O2 and that my contract has expired. They knew my name, and contacted me exactly the date from when my contract expired. I refuse to deal with cold callers all the time, so I said each time I'll call O2 back in my own time because of this. All of them hung up shortly after.
Is there potentially a leak of security information from O2? Such as contract details/dates and phone numbers? It may all be a coincidence but I've never put my mobile number down for anything, ever. Has anybody tried raising a complaint to O2 to raise this to their concern as several of their customers may be getting scammed? Or on the flip side, have they sold their data of which I know I have opted out of any 3rd party marketing (Again, as I always do with everybody) so I'll be majorly annoyed if this is the case.
Oh and I've re-negotiated my contract with O2 earlier this week, but I'm still getting the calls. I've had 3 already this morning.
Hope this helps.- Caller: Claiming to be on behalf of O2

- NigelI have been getting calls from this number almost daily. As has been said before they claim to be your mobile provider. However I contacted them and asked whether they did this and they told me they do not. So it is not your provider offering a better deal.
I have answered twice. The first time I told them I was (genuinely) busy and calling back next week would be better. They have ignored that. I answered again as the phone rang in the car. My handsfree doesn't give ant clue who it is. I said it was not convenient as I was driving and they hung up very quickly.- Caller: Claimto be Mobile Phone Provider
- Call type: Telemarketer
- tamlynSame experience as others!! Say they are from your service provider and start asking questions to get information. Get very stroppy when you won't give any details and start asking who they are. Very rude and unpleasant!!
