Took a phone call from this number and a company called Web Consultancy the other day. The person introduced himself as Alex or Alec and said we had done a free listing on a site called free online directory. I had however, minutes before I had a listing with Hot Frog, it seems they are waiting for one to update then calling people like myself.

I have done sales myself previously, this seems a new trick to myself. Keep well clear of this company.

exactly the same thing happened to me, if you are listing your business on the free listing sites expect a phone call from these guys.

I have a call from this number minutes after adding my info to hotfrog.

Surprize! Surprize! I got a missed call from a web consultancy minutes after registering on Hotfrog as well! In the modst of calling them back I looked up this website and then hung up!

lol they tried calling me, but missed me I was busy and they called just after i updated my profile for no tele marketers on hot frog.

They didn't even leave a message on the answer machine.

i keep getting missed calls from this number, the never leave a message and never answer the phone when you try to call them. Upon doing some research i have found they tap into other directories and they contact people using the free listings to steal the business from other companies. They are trouble so my a dice is to stay away from them.

I do not understand your "keep well clear of this company" comment or any of the other more abusive responses posted here.

They are a company that offer website services. In my experience with them they are above board and are not dishonest or some sort of "con".

If you don't want web services then don't use them obviously, but some of the reaction here is over the top to say the least.

That sounds like a rather dramatic step to have taken. May I ask for what reason you reported them to the trading standards for? Only the company has not been contacted in respect of any allegation or charge made.

We provide unique web design and content work, giving our clients clear, honest and transparent information and billing. None of our practices or actions would seem to be a matter for the trading standards authorities, but if you have a genuine complaint we would like to hear the further details of it.

As we believe we have nothing to hide you would be welcome to post the allegations here if you do not want to discuss privately. This is assuming your complaint is legitimate, of course.

We do not "steal" business from other companies. Businesses are welcome to choose who they wish to use for web services; we state clearly what we offer and what our pricing is. Clients who use our service are, in the overwhelming majority of cases, delighted with what we do for them.

Please could you clarify for exactly what reason you have opted to report us to the "trading standards". We have not been contacted by any authority and cannot think of a single reason why an authority or governing body would have a reason to investigate us, but all the same we like to address all client queries and complaints directly.
