where is this code for?

The full number was 01670 852678 They rang 3 times while I was out for about 1/2 hr. Luckily our system recorded the number.
I called it back and a recorded message said sorry, that number is not available. Alarm bells rang
2 minutes later the phone rang and I made the first move and told the caller I had just had 3 suspicious calls from Morpeth or somewhere in  SE Northumberland, and from a number which did not legally exist. He admitted that he was him,  from a call centre in Glasgow. His accent was Glaswegian, but of course the criminals could be from Glasgow, but operating from SE Northumberland

Allegedly he was trying to trying to flog me a energy package I could not resist  I said that I was registered with the TPS and he should not be trying to contact me. He said what is a TPS? A genuine call centre operative would have known. Sounds like the usual clever criminals.  

I asked him to delete me from his data base.

I felt that I had avoided  a scam by some criminals either from Glasgow cleverly using a Morpeth 'ghost' phone, or from Glaswegians operating from a secret centre in Morpeth. Either was with the intent would be to make it more difficult to detect the criminals. This is my first boiler room scam apparently from Morpeth!

Normally that code would be from Morpeth or from an adjoining area of SE Northumberland

I have just had a series of suspicious calls where I believe that the criminals were using a ghost number which does not legally exist.

There is a fair chance that you may have encountered the same clever criminals.

I got a strange call from this number . I picked up and they hung up. Then i got around 10 calls within a few hours from a a private number with the name no caller id .i have no contacts without names so ut cant be from there.

This 01670 610058 number, or a slight variation, calls my mobile on a regular basis and always comes up as a Morpeth number.
Only ever used it once to enter a competition with my wife's name and they always call asking for her. Normally they put the phone down when they realise it's not my wife. Obviously my number has been bought as part of a list umpteen times. [***]!

This number called me four times per week between March and May of this year (2019). A female voice claimed that she was going to "out" me as a gay man.. Good luck with this, I've been totally open about this since 1982!
