- BrutusPossibly BT, or a 3rd Party Group able to dip into a BT Database, trying to sell something I do not want, or demand something to which they have no right.
Either way, the fact that they keep calling confirms it's clearly a group that are not worth speaking to.
It's just another annoying spam caller abusing the system. - robert| 1 replyThey put a long ring on my phone ( I was trying to sleep ). When called back, you need option 4 to avoid the irritating BT sing-song oh-so-happy girlie-cheery voice options rubbish, the sales operator called Moss got stroppy when I objected. It's a BT local business sales operation so give them all they deserve...
- Caller: BT
- Tim replies to robertThis is the main number for BT Local Business for Devon and Cornwall.
This is a BT Sales Office which is contracted to look after BT's Business Accounts within the two counties.
(Moss isn't the salesman, he is a receptionist) - dave robertsI got a call from this number today and said to them you are not bt, they gave me their security number and told me to wring any numbers on my bill to verify their ID, i rang main bt from my bill.
It turns out that they are a part of BT and deal with small to medium businesses, they were able to offer me a better discount package than i was on and should save me bout £1000 over ther year, so result.
So all those who have put on here that its not BT, you are im afraid you are wrong ( as was i ) - MissM| 2 repliesWell if they control Devon and Cornwall why am I getting constant missed calls from this number when I live in Norfolk O.o It never rings long enough for me to get there so I can only assume it is who you say it is.

Whereas coastel.bttradespace.com resolves to IP 62.239.237.214
and *IS* apparently within BT Corporate space. Currently not responding.
Coastel Communications Ltd does *NOT* appear to have a 'web site' ...that I can find.

PL6 5DS - piranA 'brendan' called this morning with a persistent patter and absolutely believable background knowledge. Throughout it all reminded me of the double glazing salesmen episodes often seen on BBC TV 'Watchdog.' The ploy or scam was presented in an authentic fashion ...I'm not the easiest person to be persuaded by this sort of call.
The package on offer, apparently only in return for a 24mths contract renewal with BT, was a five percentage reduction in line rental charges and some 480mins free call minutes per month (for the full extent of the 24mths contract) to normal BT, 0845 and 0870 numbers.
The required verbal permission suggested by 'brendan' was not acceptable to me but he did accept my own requirement for him to put our discussion in 'writing'. He would only do this by email so I gave him my email. He estimated it might take between 10mins to an hour...
Well, over 6 hours later, I have must now give up on 'brendan'. Nothing he promised has been delivered and so I have to assume that his likeable ploy is very probably some sort of a scam. Looking at the above post's data it would seem that 'they' USED to be 'proper' in the past but, perhaps, it would not be wise to assume that any current calls and/or offerings are still likely to be authentic. CAVEAT EMPTOR- Caller: Pretending STRONGLY to be 'BT' but actually Coastel Communications Ltd.
- David HarrisonJust had call from this number. Swore he was from BT and had my customer details in front of him. Was offering me faster optic service which he said was faster than my current PlusNet service. Strange as I left PlusNet several years ago and only use BT now! Scammers. Beware!
- Caller: "BT"

Coastel (undoubtedly) called but I was not around to pick up on both occasions.
Reference my July posting... 'brendan' never completed on his own 'promise' to
email me the details of the proposal. Will be interesting to listen to (more lies) how
he handles his previous broken promise if I'm ever in when he decides to try again.- Caller: Coastel (probably)
- XXXXThis is BT Local Business for Devon, Cornwall & Somerset. They are account managers for BT Business customers
- AnitaThis cant be BT we are a business but when they phone, they dont know any of our account details and our names.
we receive lots of calls a week from this number and similar numbers claiming to be BT business, reporting to the TPS.
Frequently they hang up before we speak.- Call type: Telemarketer
- LouiseHad a phone call from these idiots today. They are a 3rd party company. Told me we would be cut off as we have 'old' ISDN lines. Yes, BT will phase this out in due course. Told me I needed a new package now before they run out - really? When I asked more questions he contradicted himself and when I pulled him up on what he said he got a [***] on with me. Very rude and abrupt.
- Caller: BT Local Business but they are not who they say they are.
- Silver LadyJust had a call from this number.. claimed to be BT but had our old business name and said our line was with someone else... knew then they most def not BT..
