Just put down this call the opertaive, giving his name as Jason, claimed to be from BT, stating my internet connection had gone from private to public and could be used and abused by anybody. Since my internet provider is not BT, I asked him to give me my BT account number, to which he replied that that was confidential information, but he could prove he was from BT by giving me my "Unique"network identifier. I played along and followed his instructions and we got to a screenful of lines of text and he quoted a line from entry "ZFSendToTarget=CLSID\" claiming the numbers behind it were my unique network identifier known only to the Network provider. I pretended to accept this and was interested to see where we went next. Again the got me to press the windows button annd letter "R" together asking me to enter "www.anydesk.com" At this point I refused to go any further unless he confirmed my BT account number. He refused to do this and I refused to download software which would give him control of my PC from his desk.
