- JimThey're still pestering. No message left, but I'll bet they're begging again!
- AlanI got a call from the Open University from this number. I had finished my degree 21 years ago. They started nicely asking how I found the study and had I been to Summer school. She then started quickly reading a pre-prepared script, ignoring my questions and she was telling me there were 17,000 disabled people taking courses at the moment and trying to pull at my heart strings. They then got to the nub of the call. Would I give them £15 per month by direct debit to help fund the disabled students with their studies? I'm just currently paying to help my own two sons through university so I politely declined, and then the tone of the call got darker before they hung up. Obviously they were upset they didn't get any commission from me and I'm not happy with they went about it.

- MariaThis is the Open University - they start off by asking you how you enjoyed your studies and if you benefited from them i.e. improved your job prospects. They then hit you with a request to make a regular direct debit donation to support other students with limited income or disability. They are very persistent and not easy to say no to. If you refuse a direct debit payment they then start pursuing you for an annual one off payment. I did this for a few years - but am now retired so could not continue. Having explained this you would think they would give you some peace - not likely. The OU need to review how they fund raise as this feels like harrassment

- The MotherIt's OU. They called my mobile today (twice) but left no message. Recently they've left messages which seem to be about asking for money for disadvantaged students. Mmmmmmm - I've done two degrees with them whilst I was disadvantaged - as the carer for a severely disabled family member I'm still flippin disadvantaged so can't give them any money - well who could on carers allowance! ;-). Maybe next time I'll answer and ask them to use their donations to fund this disadvantaged carer doing a masters - bet that will stop them phoning me! ;-)
- BradyI get a call from this number almost every day various times up to 8.30pm.no message and rins off after about four rings.

- John replies to JimYes they are, i was a bit annoyed actually. They were asking for £10 a month, i said I don't make donations over the phone and they said they would give me further security information to prove who they were, goodbye. If this is genuine don't dress up asking about your experience with asking for money
- EmReceived a call from this number today, just could not hear what they were saying so hung up.
I will be attending a graduation ceremony next month so, if they have problems, they need to call me back on my mobile and speak legibly- Caller: Don’t know
- SteveIt's the OU after more donations as I graduated some years ago.
- Caller: Open University
- Call type: Valid
- IanThink this is the OU centralised outgoing phone number as lady who left message about my graduation ceremony left her direct line number
- Caller: Open University

- ZibbylJust had two calls from this number, the first to my mobile and when that wasn't answered, to my landline - the OU isn't in my contacts as I completed my degrees in 1994 and 2014, then it all got too expensive for me. No message left, which to me is the hallmark of a spammer. If they're begging for money to help fund the cost of their courses for "disadvantaged" students, as others have suggested, I wonder if they've considered reducing the cost of the courses to anyone in that category to make it easier for them? Being unemployed at present, I can't say that my degrees have helped me one iota.

- ZibbylJust had two calls, first to my mobile & second to my landline. Caller's number not in my contact list so call not answered. No messages left.
If this is actually the OU they should know better than to make calls without leaving a message, as for me anyway, it now means this number is blocked. - post pending moderator approval
