Received call from 01916719986, Said they were from BT and wanted to talk to my Husband. Would not talk to me due to Privacy laws but I am also registered with BT. Went on BT Chat who advised it is not a BT number and is a scam. Was advised to go onto MY BT and set up BT call protect to prevent them ringing me again.

The caller rang this evening purporting to be BT

Rang today at 4.30 pm and female caller asked to speak to another household member by name.  I offered to give them their work number, but they 'weren't allowed to ring another number' (!)  Claimed to be from BT.

Got another call today. This time they were happy to talk to me and suggested an 'upgrade' to our BT service.  I said they must put all terms and conditions in writing and hung up. We are on the TPS.

Said they were from BT and could help save me money. I asked them to send me details in the post but they suggested I go online though they doubted I would get same savings. Thought was scam so terminated call so I was busy.

Just had phone call from 01916719986 told me they were from bt and they could save me money on my current plan they said wanted to access my details obviously a scam

I suspect this may be from BT. Area code is Tyneside. When I went to BT Call Protect to block the number, the number wasn't listed. I have noticed this with BT - you cannot block their calls. I will consider moving to the independent True Call system to block them. We've asked them not to call with no effect.
