Unsolicited call from someone called Sam who claimed to be a health worker and offering a 14-day free trial of a medical alert pendant. The pendant itself is supposedly free, but the monitoring service costs £1.33 a day which comes to about £500 a year, so not cheap! Very persuasive sales technique - became increasingly pushy when I indicated I wasn't interested, which is when alarm bells started ringing and I thought it may well be some sort of scam. But even if it's not a scam, it could be dangerous to more vulnerable older people.
And as my number's registered with TPS, they shouldn't have called me at all.

Phoned without identification, offering a medical alert pendant at a cost of £1.70 per day. Stated their records showed I was over 60 and there was an offer. The caller was initially quite friendly and had a confident sounding air.
At the time of the call I had been dozing and it took a minute of so to register that there was something not sounding right when he got to the stage that 'all he needed was', I hung up without comment as if the call might have been disrupted. The call was not returned I then checked the number and found suspicions had already been raised.
Since this came through on my landline I suspect this may be targeting an older group more inclined to use landlines as opposed to mobiles.

I answered call and caller was offering a medical alert pendant. He went on to say that his records were saying I am over 60. When I asked him where he got this information from he hung up.

Phoned several times recently. Just silence at the other end.
