Phoned asking about our problems with our phones

Told me she was ringing on behalf of BT as someone in my office had reported an urgent fault. Wouldn't accept that nobody had rung from here and left her number for me to call back. What exactly do they gain by doing this?

Said someone had reported a fault and acting on behalf of BT to see if
it had been repaired. Working for a company called G5 in High Wycombe
I queried the phone number as 0203 and not 0208 and she said she had given me the correct number. Very Odd!!!Maybe an April Fool!!!!

Same as above. I was told by a man, 'apparently' called Sean, that someone had reported a fault and they were getting back to me. He also said I must be someone very important as I had just jumped a queue of about 150 people at the request of his boss. Yea, good one Sean - Jog on.

Premium rate phone number perhaps?

Just had a call from Dawn from G5 Help Desk saying she was getting back to our office as someone had reported a fault, she gave me the 0203 number and asked me to call her back! yeah like thats going to happen!

Received a call from "Alma" a South African woman, who said that she was calling from G5 about a fault on our line.  We did actually have a fault on the line and one of our members of staff almost faxed her all our bills which was what she was asking for.  These would have contained all our numbers, which I assume she would then have transferred our business to them.

I stopped him faxing the bills as alarm bells were ringing and when Alma rang back, I asked her how she got our number.  There would only be two names that could have contacted her to ask her help sort out our problem, but strangely enough, she didn't have a name!  She said that she just had a note on her desk from her boss (who had conveniently stepped out of the office)to ring us urgently to help sort out our fault.  I asked her to find out the name and call me back.
I then googled G5 and this telephone number and got this web site.

If she rings back now, she will have had a wasted call!

had a call from "Brett" a south african guy calling from G5 about a problem with our phones. How they got our information I'll never know but they are being reported.

Just had a call from G5 who are actually called 5G, finally got through just to find out where my info came from. They tell me that their address is Phoenix House, Desborough Park Road, High Wycombe, HP12 3BQ.

They are a sister company to UNIVERSAL TELECOM on Tel:0800 652 3111 who are in the same building.

When asked for web site details or the MD's name, the chap on the end of the phone clammed up and told me he could not divulge this information.

Conclusion, watch your [***], these are scammers.  And by the way, I was subscribed to the caller preference service, which was abused by 5G and I will be reporting.
