- SgeirUsual sad fraudster claiming to be from Microsoft Windows. South Asian accent, called himself Alex Jones. The whole point of a con trick is to build up confidence in the victim. This guy was rubbish.
- Caller: Fraudster
- SgeirUsual sad fraudster claiming to be calling on behalf of Microsoft Windows. South Asian accent, and calling himself Alex Jones. Not at all convincing and totally failed to build up any confidence in the intended victim. As scammers go, pretty second rate. Suggest he considers retraining as a pickpocket or some other sort of lowlife criminal activity.
- Caller: Fraudster
- BerniceSecond call from this number, male, no accent, sounded British, said they were in area re energy saving and wanted to know how many windows I haf and were they more than 10 years old. I told him to get lost and put phone down.

- MartynThis was a call to my mobile. The woman asked, what make of washing machine I had, I asked why they wanted to know, they said for verification, I said goodbye and put the phone down. Having read these comments I have now blocked the number. I thought I should add this comment as it shows the range of scams coming from the same number.
- MikeCalled but missed the call... Thanks for the heads up
Can now block them - TierljPersistent nuisance caller. Line is silent for about 20 seconds then a female caller says "goodbye". Calls can be any time from early morning until late at night. Sometimes 4 calls per day!
- JanAs soon as I hear a voice say hallo which I don't recognize I put the phone down and take the chance that it isn't a friend and get the number from 1471 and found out who the caller is from this site but would never phone the number back.
- Caller: Don't know
- SallyC replies to BruneypoochUsually an Asian man saying his name is Martin or David or James!!!!
- silverswanAsian voice - Vince (aye right must've been adopted.)He confirmed my name and my post code and asked if I had a hotpoint washing machine that was 8 years old. I said yes and he asked if it was working ok. I said yes and he said thanks for the information! Turns out I have an 8 yr old Zanussi(I'd forgotten the make!) Don't know what the point was - probably to see if someone's in at this time- so I won't be answering it again.
- Caller: asian scammers as usual
- RogerAnother call asking for a man by name who has not lived here. We get these from different phone numbers about every month or so (often 08000 .....).
- Caller: Not given
- DinoThis no. is still active, rang my mob. this morning. I don't answer anything now starting 0203. Once you do, they know your no. is in use & prob sell your no. on to other pests.

- GRP47Since I had caller ID set up on my phone I only answer those calls which I recognise. If anyone else has anything important to say, they can leave a message. None of them do.
- GS02031988128 just called. I let the answer machine take it and they put the phone down straight away. My BT phone is good but I really need to be able to block more than 10 numbers!!

- JaneHad a call saying he was from Npower and he must've got lucky because they really are our suppliers. However, because of the heavy Indian accent and the fact that he asked to speak to "the person responsible for the energy bills" my BS detector was kicking in. I asked him if he could therefore pass my security check by giving me some details from my account and he said he could confirm by my MPAN number. I got my last bill out and said I was ready for him to confirm the number to me then he said "Oh, there's a problem with the computer and the postcode, some of the numbers might be wrong" and he gave me an incorrect number. At which point I said "I'm sorry, that's an incorrect number, I'm terminating this call" and hung up on him. A quick Google of his number proved my gut instinct correct, they appear to just be scammers.
