They called me pretending to be from the r a c ...saying if I pay my renewal early, thel give me extra cover free....they had my payment amount, name, and policy number...I asked a few questions...then hung up and called r a c breakdown....the rac said it wasn't them calling....so where have they got my info from ?

I suspect this is RAC or one of their agents.  I had about 3 calls a day for about a week (all of which I ignored) from RAC immediately after my policy expired and I didn't renew.  As soon as the calls stopped from their 0330 number, I get several again from this number (again all ignored).  RAC touting for business

Today I have had the third call from this number in two days purporting to be from the RAC.  I quizzed him closely as to why he was calling me enquiring about my renewal as he would obviously have all the details regarding it on the screen in front of him.  He was evasive.  I said that I I had received scam calls claiming to be from the RAC on this number and refused to give any information whatsoever and the call ended.  I have now blocked it.  I have e-mailed the RAC explaining all this and asking for assurance that any information they hold about me is secure.  I am still awaiting a response.  Might have to change to the AA next year.

Been getting calls all day it's from the rac trying to get me to renew but I have taking out personal cover last month so there not very bright.

Call from this number today was Mercedes Europcar phoning on behalf of RAC to arrange replacement car for mine which is being towed. Legit call and very helpful.
