is it a genuine police number though?
got a call off this number with somene making false accusations and then they hung up..?

I just got a call from this number....like "DAN" said....i had 3 missed calls from Unknown number and then this number came up......i tried to call the number back just now but incoming calls are not accepted.....and....people are saying its the police........is this true...?what sort of queries do they, the "police" deal with?

I was called from this number saying it was Lewisham Police and that I had phoned them. I didn't ring them and I fear this is a scam of some sort.

this actualy isnt no scam, most probebly you'v been involved in a case in which the police may want to ask you some questions.

i reported a crime in the internet regarding a ticket scam, and today i just had a miseed call from this number.....do you think they are calling in regards to my report?

I work for the Police. This is a real number. The Police have call centres now. The number can not be called back, Due to the nature of some calls... messages will not be left

I got a caller from this number, identified himself as the MetropolitanPolice, saying that my mobile had put out an emergency call.  He repeated to me the gist of a conversation I had been having with my wife.  Afterwards I checked my mobile and saw that it HAD made an emergency call (whilst in my pocket!) and check on this site where I saw other references to the Met Police..  So, far from being "threatening" it would seem that this is a friendly number: the guy was not angry at the false call - just helpfully letting me know.
