Wellness clinic asking for our details. Asked them where they got our number from and they couldn't answer. Then asked for our details again to register us on TPS. Told her we are already on there and ex directory. I then advised her that I will report them to ICO if they didn't take our number off their records or if they call again. Then I put the call blocker on them.

Unsolicited call from "Wellness Centre" looking into the health of elderly (bloody cheek! Im only 59)  but I told him I was not interested in a survey or buying anything. He continued to enquire about my health  but I told him I was prepared to discuss it. He politely ended the call. Complaint logged with Information Commissioner's Office as I am registered with TPS.
I suspect the purpose of the call was to find out what medical conditions I had with a few to passing on to other companies so that they get a referral fee.

Two calls in as many weeks.
Each time I request my details to be removed and state that I am registered with both the TPS and the CPR.
They also give out a false number.  I am always told it ends 2249.  Checking using BT's 1415 service shows that it is 2246.
Called TPS.  They are aware of "The Wellness Centre" and sending me a complaint form as they are compiling reports with the intention of taking action.
Here's hoping the TPS are successful.

Bogus NHS Credit Cards Calls: Just Hang Up

    April 30, 2010 1:57 PM

Kent Trading Standards have received reports of bogus callers telephoning consumers pretending to be from a local GP surgery.

The caller gives the impression they are from the NHS and asks what medication the consumer is taking. In one incident the caller persuaded the consumer they would benefit from taking Pomegranate tablets, they took credit card details and debited £179.50 from the account.

A victim's son traced the call back to a company based in India. No NHS health professional would ever ask for a patient's credit card details over the phone.

Kent Trading Standards are warning consumers to be very wary of anyone cold calling and requesting credit or debit card details. If you are in any doubt at all end the call. In your home, on your phone, you are in control - hang up.

Please contact Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 or go to www.consumerdirect.gov.uk if you need further advice on your consumer rights, or you want to report any businesses or incidents you have concerns about.

A very polite but intrusive non-native English speaker rang me this afternoon from a London based health centre. However, I became suspicious when he could not explain 1) how he had obtained my number and 2) became very evasive when  I asked him for the precise name and address of the clinic other than continually stating that it was a "natural wellness medical survey" to assess health and lifestyle. Terminated the conversation and made a note of the number. Suspect this was an attempt to sell me products and certainly not in accord with NHS guidelines as claimed. Will forward number to my surgery to investigate as he knew a little too much about my medical conditions for comfort.

Your caller was not from a health centre.  This lot are similar, if not the same, as Sanda wellbeing who are notorious for preying on elderly and vulnerable people.  They sell quack remedies like pomegranate tablets, saying that there is a special rate for the elderly, say £14.95.  The ask for the credit/debit card details and then remove enormous amounts of money from the account.  Some elderly people have lost thousands of pounds.  These people neither know, nor care, whether their remedies will react with their medication.  All they are interested in is stealing the money.  If you read earlier posts on here you will see a link to other numbers which spell out the fraud.

Fortunately , unearthing scams has been my forte and that too scams leading to us vulnerable.

My visit to India and back has been insightful with many documentary evidence to nail such scams, i have been assured of more evidence once i reach India post Christmas, one such scami is mentioned below,

This is regarding the Company named “Sanda Wellness” which is into health supplements related to various health concerns. Sanda Wellness changed its name to “Natural Wellness Products Ltd” which filed for insolvency and I understand that, ironically has been sold to the company “Your Lifestyle Products Ltd” and is presently operating in the field of marketing health supplements by means of telemarketing in the UK . The fact that the Directors or atleast one Director in the company Your Lifestyle Products Ltd is common to the company Natural Wellness Products Ltd and thus it cannot be ruled out that the so called dissolution and sale of the company Natural Wellness Products Ltd is a mere eyewash and a ploy of its founder Mr. Ajit Patel to evade prosecution.

These people have no qualms about ruthlessly scamming elderly and vulnerable people - often those with dementia - out of hundreds or thousands of pounds. Therefore i think it is only fair they should be exposed for the parasitic scum they are. Sandwellbeing are deliberately targeting the elderly and vulnerable. They announce themselves as calling from the "Health Centre". They chat away about general health issues, show friendly concern, until they find one to focus on and then pursue a large sale. They transfer calls between individuals which helps to build credibility and confuse the target. DO NOT use them. They are a truly insidious and invidious group.

The NHS in Nottingham issued warnings about Sanda in 2010:
    http://www.lpc-online.org.uk/nottinghamshire_lpc/?news_id=2592
Bogus call to Nottingham City patient instructing them to stop taking their prescription medication, Message received from GP practice in Clifton :-
A company from India under the name Sanda Wellbeing who apparently ‘phone the patient up and advise the patient to stop taking their medication. If patient's raise similar concerns practices / pharmacies should ask patients to report this to the local police.
The PCT should be informed if further incidents do occur.

Kent Trading Standards are warning consumers to be very wary of anyone cold calling and requesting credit or debit card details. If you are in any doubt at all end the call. In your home, on your phone, you are in control - hang up.

it appears that, owing to the inquiry launched by the Kent Trading Standards, Sanda changed its address last year and filed for liquidation. They have been successful in this ploy and are now operating as Your Lifestyle Products Ltd .

Sanda even had their own facebook page which has been abandoned after people had posted such gems as "The head of Sanda, Ajit Patel was on trial for years, when he was the Chairman of Goldshield, for trying to defraud the NHS by millions."

The director of Sanda Wellbeing Ltd (later known as Natural Wellness Products Ltd), Ajit Patel, also has a magazine called "Your Wellness" (print and digital: http://issuu.com/yourwellness ), published by Yourwellness Publishing Ltd and if you have a subscription for it they may have used the details you gave them to call you.

    Address: Suite 010 The Beehive
Beehive Ring Road, Nr Gatwick Airport
    Gatwick, West Sussex
    RH6 0PA, United Kingdom

The Man Friday of Mr. Ajit Patel is an Indian National,  Vijay Bhagwandas Dalwani, who apart from being a Director in Sanda Wellness is currently a Director in the following Companies :

    Health Media Publishing Private Limited
    Oxeye Digital Solutions Private Limited
    Omatra Foundation
N Gage Marketing India Private Limited
Sanda Office Management Services Private Limited
    Sanda Sevaks Foundation
    Sanda Business Solutions Private Limited
    Dudh Sagar Spa Goa
    Baywatch Goa
    Your Lifestyle Pvt Ltd
    Your Wellness Magazine

Vijay Bhagwandas Dalwani is also the Chairman of the Indian company DNY Hospitality Pvt. Ltd and his family members are Directors. These people have no qualms about ruthlessly scamming elderly and vulnerable people - often those with dementia.

As per his Web site he claims to be some DJ with albums connected to his name, wonder where the funds were wired from.

Meeting employees working with such scam companies has also revealed the amount of funds the Directors have diverted to their family and their accounts for personal gain is incredible.

Further inquiries into the affairs of Sanda has revealed that the company has also evaded millions in taxes, both in the UK and in India and as a matter of fact there is a Police Complaint filed against the Indian subsidiary Sanda Wellbeing Pvt Ltd for Tax evasion which is presently being investigated by the M.I.D.C. Police Station, Mumbai, India under complaint number: MECR 17/2014.

Astounding as it may sound, Mr. Ajit Patel and his cronies have now ventured in the field of developing Digital Applications for Smart Phones and have developed an App named               “n-gage messenger”, which brags to be a world's first 360 degree lifestyle Chat app. The Developer address also being ; Suite 010, The Beehive, Beehive Ring Road, Nr Gatwick Airport RH6 0PA .  Please note that Vijay Bhagwandas Dalwani is a Director in N Gage Marketing India Private Limited.

With a proven history of blatant violations of the TPS and Data Protection guidelines and also Tax laws in the UK and India, how safe your personal data will be is anybody’s guess.

Beware , check credential, it would be an disaster , scam companies to have easy access to your phone and data.BEWARE.

Do not believe any of the positive comments here. They are posted by people working for Sanda trying to reduce the incidence of negative feedback appearing on Google. I encourage all of you who have experienced this scam to write here and expose these unscrupulous fraudsters.
