what did they want?

Had a call today from this number asking to speak to Joe Bloggs??...don't know if it was a true call or not

it's a real company, they do internet transfers/currencies exchange, my company uses them, better rates than when done directly from bank to bank abroad. I use them privately as well but then rates are not as good, maybe because the amounts of money transferred are lower? overall  OK

My Dad somehow got involved with this company in Spain to transfer money back to the UK. They visited him at home in Spain, told him it was no obligation.

He moved back to the UK to start getting calls from both Spain and from their company down in London. He told them he needed to speak to someone and they pressured him. I have transcripts of calls from London but not all the calls he had from Spain. They kept telling him the currency was changing and after repeated times of him saying he would call them, they still called him back until he said "yes" to get rid of them. When the money wasn't there after his bank advised him not to go ahead with it, within a flash they said we will just pass your over to our legal team. Now he has a debt that was originally 2k gone to 3k with bailiffs coming around. The solicitors they use Spratt Endicot are useless and don't reply to emails. With him renting in the UK and moving house 4 times due to difficulties he missed any communication... and just found out the bailiffs have been trying to reach him for possession orders. I myself tried to sort this out with the company in Spain, they never replied to emails or called me back. Easy money for Currencies Direct. People may have had good experiences but for my farther dealing with them in Spain and London was confusing and worrying.

This number is Currencies Direct, a highly respected company dealing with exchanges between different currencies. Any phone calls from them are usually to advise of exchange rates or to notify that funds have been received.

They called me twice with no one speaking when I asked who it was. They hang up very quickly each time
