I signed up with these cowboys 6 weeks ago, they cut off my BT services 3 weeks ago and haven't set me up with them even though they have taken the 1st 3 months package fee and line rental, when I called this number back its dead! When I called customer services to complain it was in India despite me being told that they are 100% UK based! - I had the same as Lynn above, I even heard someone say "bun a zoot" which I have the unfortunate pleasure of knowing what that means (light a joint) so I now have this image of a call centre in India with everyone high as a kite!
Do not give these guys your details as they are a rogue outfit! Nothing but hassle!

Keep recieving numerous calls from this number. I asked how he located my name and number and was informed that BT sell this information to several marketing cutomers. The details he gave me was verified as Kingfisher telecom located in crew and the reason no number shows up and is listed as Interantional is because they have auto-dialing equipment. Just hang up and report their cold calling to BT.

    Refund from Eze-talk...eventually
BY ANDREW PENMAN ON JULY 30, 2009 12:00 AM IN PHONES
"REALLY frustrating" is how Brian Stevens describes his parents' dealings with eZe-talk.

"During 2008 eZe-talk talked my elderly parents into swapping phone suppliers but they realised that they did not want to and never completed any paperwork," Brian told us.

But his parents' bank statements showed they had paid two phone companies.

"My mother phoned eZe-talk and they agreed a refund of £151.74."

Trouble is, the refund never arrived - until we asked Crewe-based eZe-talk why.

    The cheque's arrived now.

My Mum is going through the same thing. I spoke to Kelly at eze-talk around christmas and she enforced the company line that to escape from the "contract" will cost about £350. I asked for evidence of signatures on contracts etc which has never been forthcoming! I was told they would listen to the recording of the call and get back to me, needless to say they never have. Now I find they have been taking money from my Mothers bank accout since August 09...I can't believe what they have done and are doing, what do I do next?

I have been trying to phone eZe Talk frequently yesterday and today and I keep getting a message saying there is no one available to take calls.
Hardly a recommendation for a communications company.
I wanted to ask them why they had taken £63-02 on March 1st 2010 from my bank account by direct debit as I have no paperwork from them to substantiate this amount.
In Nov 09 I received an invoice for £54 which was taken from my bank account to substantiate a direct debit which I queried: they wrote back saying they would investigate and that is the last I heard about that. I wrote to them again on 8th February 2010 but so far have had no reply.
They also took £25-36 on February 1st 2010 - again no paperwork as to why.
Where do I go from here?

my elderly mother received a bill fom Eze-Talk, today, for an alleged Eze-Talk account although she has never agreed with them to transfer her account from BT ( with whom she is perfecly happy). She has spoken with BT customer services, who have confirmed that they will maintain her account with them. At her request, BT are also registering a complaint with OFCOM.
She has tried this morning to speak to someone at Eze-Talk, but cannot get past an answerphone message. It does all lead one to wonder whether there is some form of sharp business practice occurring here.

I got a call from eze-talk a few days ago. At first i thought it was BT offering to reduce my call charges, which was good. When they started asking for bank details I said they (BT) already had them which was when they told me they weren't BT. A very sharp practise in my view. I've looked at their website and the call packages look very good but reading the comments above and the fact they tried to hide they were not BT makes me suspicious. I didn't give them any details and would advise others to be cautious.

My uncle, aged 83, recently had experience of eze talk. At the time he was caring for my aunt who was very ill, and it is fair to say that he was quite distracted, and gave his bank details. He was unable to complete the call as he was called away to my aunt's bedside, so he assumed that nothing would go through. He called me at the time worried, but there was nothing to be done as he didn't recall who the company were, or he would certainly have cancelled during the cooling off period.
Now he has found a debit on his account from eze talk.
I have advised him to stop any further payments to this company and to apply to them for a refund.

I'm having a nightmare with EZE-talk. They have had my line and been billing it since 2006 but when I phoned to report a fault they deny it's with them. I have spoken to Ofcom and Opal who confirm that it's with EzeTalk. Although eze-talk deny that they have my line they continue to charge me for the line rental and I've had no landline or broadband now for 3 weeks!! I've been speaking to a dopey lad called Martin and not once has the manager Kiesha returned my calls! Absolutely horrific.

I have had nothing but trouble with this company since February 2010 when I was given a very hard sell from India. I decided the easiest way to deal with it was to accept and cancel the following day.Now in April I am still fighting them despite never changing from BT!! The threatening letters, ineffectual phone calls when I could get through and even the letter from a Peter Vernon saying how sorry he was at my cancellation have been awful and I fear for people who may be scared witless by them. I have today sent yet another resume of all dealings with them despite having done this in a letter on 8 March.I have discussed this today with OfCom and been given a reference number to send details to CISAS (Ombudsman)
Perhaps they should be further investigated.

I have had a nightmare with EzeTalk. After dozens of calls to them about their over-billing I spoke to someone in customer's services and they assured me that they had overcharged me but if I paid the £54 which they had now decided I owed I would hear no more from them. I paid this over the phone with my card. I am now receiving threatening letters from a debt collection agency for £255.99 which they say I owe. Recently I was offered a credit card from my bank. The first time I tried to use it it was denied and it seems Ezetakl have blacklisted me. I am waiting to speak to my lawyer about it.

My elderly mother of 92 was also conned into giving her bank details to a man with an Indian accent from Ezi-talk. He told her the company was part of BT and that there was money to go into her account. She gave them her bank details as she thought they were sending her money. Now the paperwork arrives to say that she has "signed up" with eze-talk. She is now very distraught, and even though I was assured by the follow up call from the company that this would be cancelled I am very worried that she will have the same problems as the others.

Like all the above letters I have had the same treatment.promise of cheaper call from BT. No paper work or cooling off period,
selection of tarrifs. Money taken from my bank account which I retrived (I never gave the details?) So I was Cut off and I have a very sick wife who needs hosiptal nurses & doctors urgently. Had to pay £123 just get the line back.
Told Ofcom and then a brilliant success with CISAS who had Ezetalk drop the charges of £54 and £176.
With al the complaints of a simular nature I wonder how this establishment can still operate. Even informed my MP but she did not seek relection

    ULRIKE ROWE SAID:
    They are still at it!!
Last Monday, 21 June 2010 our mother (78) received a cold call from a sales person (Indian accent) saying he was from eze-talk and that her phone bills will be cheaper now. He did not ask her whether she wanted to change from her provider, just repeated that her bills would be cheaper now. She was talked into handing over her bank details for a Direct Debit set-up (initially she refused, but was told by the caller that he "would not be stupid enough to loose his job over doing anything fraudulent"). I found her very, very upset when I came home from work.
Luckily she had asked for a contact number and at approx. 17:45 the same evening I spoke to a sales advisor at eze-talk in Crewe, Nadine. I asked her to record our conversation, to which she replied it would be. She stated she did not have a record of the call to mother as yet, and that the cold calls were made "from a different location" - so she could not ask anybody about it either. On mother's behalf I told Nadine to cancel whatever they wanted mother to change to, and that we'd expect a letter of confirmation of this cancellation within 3 days. To which Nadine agreed. After checking the web about this outfit - and finding your site - I was shocked and alerted. So, to make sure, the same evening I put the cancellation in writing by sending an email on mother's behalf to "customerservices@eze-talk.com" (link from their website).
Needles to say that neither did I get a reply (not even "confirmation that read") nor did mother get a letter to confirm that she had not entered into any contract with them.
To top it all: this afternoon (Saturday, 26 June 2010) she had another call from eze-talk. This time from a woman, saying that mothers package (router?) would be delivered early next week. When mother said that she had cancelled everything, she was told there was NO record about her cancellation. Can you imagine how distressed she was?
We will now take further steps against this company - writing to you is one of them. Looking into harassment charges is one of the other options.
I just wonder: Richard Denny, Sales Guru, is the proud chairman of this company as per their website. Does he really endorse methods like this? Seemingly targeting vulnerable elderly people? Not following industry standards? It can't really be in his interest that a google search of "eze-talk" offers "eze-talk complaints" as second and "eze-talk scam" as third most popular search associated with "eze-talk".
He must know that one of the most powerful sales tools is "word of mouth".

    R MARTIN SAID:

My Mother was conned by this company into changing her service over to them in January, they did not send any contract to her at the start and or any form of written confirmation of the package she had agreed to. They took her bank details and have just made deduction every month from her account without every sending a bill, she only told us about all this when they took over £70 from her account for one months calls, which is silly as even with BT she never got a monthly charge like that.
Anyway as soon as we found out we told her to cancel her service with them and cancel the direct debit, they in turn called and threatened her if she did not pay a cancellation charge. They have now over a month ago disconnected her line so that she can not make out going calls, my mother is 75 and lives in a warden assisted complex and now can not call out if she has an emergency.
Today she received a letter from a debt collector and is very upset that they will barge into her home and is so afraid.
I called EZE talk this evening and told them that they need to send me a copy of the signed contract, the details of the package and a bill for every month showing the cost of each call, I was told that they did have a contract as they didn’t need one because it was all done over the phone, but they would send me the bill (I won’t hold my breath).
I’m going to write to Ofcom, BBC Watchdog, CISAS, Trading Standards and Age Concern, I don’t know how companies like this are able to run in this country and it really beggars belief that they can do it so easily.
Please can I ask everyone her to write to all the bodies above, this company needs to be stopped.

You can see my original post further up the page, the problem is STILL going on. I have now been given the name Steve Walsh to whom I should complain, but I shouldn't need to, I have called and complained, asked for contract proof, asked for sales recording proof and asked for cancellation and all to no avail at all! I have now contacted Watchdog and that Domonic chap who seems to have some sway with faceless companies. This whole thing is totally outrageous and unacceptable in this day and age. I will not rest until I have all the monies back, a compensation amount and an apology.

    ROBERT CLARKE SAID:
I stopped my service with eze talk in May 2009 and transferred to Sky Talk. After initially trying to charge me a cancellation fee, I had not had any correspondence with eze talk since July 2009. In May 2010 I received a letter from a debt collector asking for the money owed to eze talk for services provided in August to September 2009. I have since written to eze talk explaining they were not my service provider and I have paid Sky Talk for that period. Sky Talk has explained to me that they ceased being my service provider in July 2009 at the request of eze talk. I had no knowledge of that especially as Sky Talk was still billing me until February 2010 and I was still paying Sky Talk for the service. To sum up a very confusing situation, eze talk is asking me for the £345 cancellation fee. (I am unsure how they came to that figure) or £232 for services provided. (When I cancelled my service with eze talk, I was up to date with my account) This is really stressing out my wife and me, especially as debt collectors are threatening to come to our house. I am in correspondence with eze talk who is still insisting I owe them money. I have asked for any written proof they have of me agreeing to any cancellation fee and any instruction from me for them to be my service provider after May 2009. The reason I cancelled my service with them was because our bills were so high. I was totally miss sold their service. Something needs to be done about this awful company.

Just had a call from this crowd. The first few minutes the salesman, a Chris Wilson, explained that I would receive a reduced bill and free national evening/weekend calls. He also did not explain which company he worked for, so I naturally assumed BT. He then required my bank details to update my standing order, I told him BT already have this info and I would not be passing this info over the phone. He remained very insistent and explained at length that this info was OK to tell him over the phone because he was in the sales department and my bank details were with accounts. I eventually asked him which company he was working for, not BT but EZE-TALK!

How like the situation my friend finds herself in are all these complaint letters above
My friend is an 80 years old widow who has a seious problem with asthma lives on her own and pays over a hundred pounds a year for a lifeline which she constantly wears round her neck and is usable only through a phone line
A year pasrt October she was scammed into changing to Ezetalk after a lifetime with BT ater constant phone calls over 3days purporting to be part of BT with a better package
She realized very soon after that she had been scammed but could not afford the £300 plus they demanded to release her from the contract so had to stay the year with them Since the end of the contact last October she has had no phone because ezetalk have not yet released the line we have been endlessly in contact with them, owe them nothing yet she too has been threatened with bailiffs for money as recently as last week in spite of having a letter which stated her contract was over in Oct and she had to contact BT,
BT have made 6 dates since October to reinstate her line but each time maintain that EZEtALK have not released it Last week after having been to Citizens Advice Bureau with no result we went to Age Concern and they arranged a meeting with a local solicitor who is going to do what he can pro bono for her ie write to both BT and ezetalk My friend is distraught but so angry that she is determined that if it takes her meagre savings she will see justice done She has been unable to use her lifeline since October so you can imagine her distress during the recent bad weather with no phone except an expensive Pay as you go mobile which has cost her enormously to keep in touch with BT and EZETALK We are busy photo copyiyin all her communications from both companies to send to the Ferret Watchdog Ofcom and a daily newspaper if nothing happens after the solicitors letters. Wish us luck please no 80 year old lady should go through this!!!!

I am a Eze Talk customer, they are a dreadful company!.

I WAS COLD CALLED by them in 2010, I agreed to a contract just to get rid of the indean bloke on the line.and cancilled it strait away afterwords by email and by phone and they still went ahead with the contract.
so I rang them again,I was badgered by the woman on the phone, and I agreed to have the phone but not their broadband.
    Then a few weeks later I received a package,yes you know who from!"Eze Talk"it was a modem.
I receive a email from Aol the next day to say they were cutting me of because I did not have a BT phone line.Eze talk did not
tell me that would happen when they talked me in to having their phone line.
So I rang Eze talk, them woman on the phone
agreed to let me have a 1 year 1 off payment contract,I made it clear that it must end when the year was up,she said it would.
It is now Feb 2011.I rang them to make sure
they were ending it,only to here the
    woman say"we dont do 1 year 1 payment,its a 2 year contract"and tou have to pay £67.00
    as an early cancellation fee.
Thank God the connection with them ends on the 28/2/11!.+Their phone line is crap, the voices of the callers keep cutting in and out.

My 12 month contract is up, thank God, but they are still trying to get £25.00 out of me. I'm surprised this disgraceful company is still allowed to operate. I tried ringing them and even though I was no. 1 in the queue no-body answered the phone!

Absolutely horrific scam company eze--talk!!!!!!! After 3 years of dispute over incorrect bills and continuous added charges from them i had to resort to taking legal action which resulted in them scrapping my charges and closing my account. Never received any apology or compensation for the severe stress they caused me and my family. Avoid this company if its the last thing you do.
