They called and told me they were calling about an 02 contract with the Carphone Warehouse and needed me to confirm my address. When I refused, they hung up.

This number has called me everyday for the last week or so, always between 1-20 p.m. and 1-40 p.m.. I am 10 months into an 18 month contract with CPW, so it's rather late to ask if I am happy and too early to suggest an upgrade!!
I have no intention of answering as I deal directly with the CPW shop in my home town.
If you DO decide to answer, I suggest that you DO NOT confirm ANY details that they ask you, (not even your name or first line of address), that way they should not be able to make any unwanted changes to your contract.

Me again, calls still coming, still un-answered Something I forgot to mention in my last post and wondered if anybody else had noticed the same:- The phone only rings a couple of times and quite frankly I would not be able to answer it in time even if I wanted to. Makes you wonder if it is their intention to get you to call them back!!

Had a few calls from this number over the past week but they never managed to speak to me- found this website and realised who they were (so thank you!) and they are now on my 'reject' list. I suggest others do the same!

I got called today by the number mentioned and i am not going to answer them. My upgrade is not for ages so i don't see why they would be calling me and i don't like answering to people i don't know.

Grrrrrrr I have had one or two calls everyday and its the same number. its getting on my nerves now and i wish i could block this stupid number. extremely pissed off.

Just called CPWH and was told to contact the police as it sounds like someone is Phishing for my details. One of two things is going on here...

1. CPW CS don't have a clue that followup calls are being outsourced.
2. Someone has my name and telephone number and are trying to get some info from me or scam or market me with stuff I don't want.

Either way, I always have and always will refuse to give out my personal details over the telephone to someone who calls me; UNLESS they can provide me with those details first... obviously they're not going to do that if they're legit and following the DPA.

I got a call from this number just now - I don't ever answer unknown numbers unless I'm expecting a call so didn't answer. After reading this I am confused by all the references to Carphone Warehouse/O2....since my phone is an Orange contract bought from the Orange shop and 6 months away from upgrade time...

I have just had this call and I am not even with Carphone Warehouse!

It is totally fine... it is BPS contact centre that works on behalf on the CPW. I gave my bank details to set up a direct debit.. ACC Num and Sort code. Everything went smooth and was totally fine. IT IS NOT A SCAM!! call them if u dont believe 02082961000

I had several missed calls from these guys, and eventually answered one of just. Starts out all nicey nicey "how are you today". Then they tried to go through DPA questiosn at which point I said "sorry, I'm not interested".
...... I then got a big sigh from her! Wow BPS gave them really good professional training!!!  But equally why I won't be doing business with them.

You have answer one call though just to stop them from ringing you.
