who called me? Can't get hold of person who called me from this number.

I want to call back the person from this number but no luck.  who called me and what company is it

This number has been calling me all day.  All i hear is beeps.  If i call back the number will not connect.

It is driving me crazy.

This is the London Borough of Haringey's number. It defaults as the caller ID for anyone that calls you from the council.

confirmed, it is from Haringey Council, although you cannot get through to them on this number. An acquaintance works there.

I have called from this number 02084890001 today many times, it appears to be a Haringey council. However, when I tried to call back I cannot get through,  that is really ridiculous. I wanted to find out which department of Haringey council was that? Why the calling me?    Do they just want to disturb people?

Please help me out if someone has more information about it

Was called on June 19th 2013 from 02084890001 at 0859am and a message was left on my voicemail asking me to call back to Haringay Council from someone whose english was barely understandable to talk to him about a rent account. I am not quite sure where Harringay is except that it is somewhere in the London sprawl... and since I live in South Wales and own my own home, I can't understand why they should call me! Needless to say I didn't bother to call them back!

As an obvious scam caller I doubt very much that the calls originate from within Haringey Council, but from a spoofed number that merely appears to be. Consider that the genuine number published on their website ends in 1000 and not 0001. I don't answer or reply to these nuisance calls because I have never rented property in Haringey and so am not going to fall for this stupid scam. I have a BT phone on my landline that gives me call screening but they still get through on the mobile. Why doesn't OFCOM have a means of enforcing telecom companies to block these numbers on the network? Year after year people keep reporting the same numbers.

This is NOT a valid UK number, which are max 11 digits. So, there's one digit too many so clearly not Haringey Council. Not even UK London number! Years ago, I recall you could program even simple fax machine with any ID you decided & technology gotten even smarter since then.

Had a call from this number today (Sunday at 18.00). Didn't pick up as I don't answer calls from unfamiliar numbers.
I doubt it is Haringey Council as a) I've never lived in London and b) why would the council be phoning someone on a Sunday evening?

It IS Haringey council. If your company had 100s of employees who all needed to make outbound calls, would you have 1 phoneline to do it on? Have you been in a box all your life?

I had a call, apparently from this number today, but was in an important conversation, so let it ring out. When I call back, there is no sound, and the call drops immediately. I do live in Haringey, so it is possible that the Council called me, but if so, surely they would have given some way of responding.

Got a call from phone number 0208 -489 -0001 today - I live in Haringey - im very worried why they called me :-(

It is the haringey council , the department is inspection about housing - to see if everything is working - water, kitchen, etc...
