0234

phone rang two rings and then stopped.I picked it up after it stopped ringing to check 1471 there was someone still on the line.It was then put down.I checked 1471 and the number was 0234.
Could I have been charged for this number?Is it a scam?

Same here two rings and no one there, whats the point unless they want you to call back/scam

Number rang as the display has only 4 digits it is no one I knew so did not answer.  It is the 2 or 3 time I have had this number but the first time it went to the anser machine but no message left. Google the number is not helpful.
As the number is only being reported since February 2012 it looks like a new system to contact people even if they are on TPS.
Consider Ofcom for help?

I had a call from this number yesterday (22/04/13) and a man said he was calling from a solicitors about the "accident" we had - I told him we hadn't had any accident - he said maybe someone else in our car - I said absolutely not and as we're registered with the TPS he shouldn't be calling us - he then said he was calling from the TPS(!!!) so I told him no he wasn't he was phoning to try and sell us something - I got annoyed with him and told him to p*** off and not ring us again before I put the phone down........he then rang straight back and said no he wasn't trying to sell me anything called me a c*** and other swearing terms at me!!!! OMG! I put the phone down - he rang back AGAIN straight away so my husband answered and said are you who just swore at my wife and the man then called him a f****** blah blah blah (you get the picture!) can't believe it!

I received a called from this number on 25/04/2013. The man said he was calling about the car accident I had had in my car, I don't even drive. I informed the man that I have never been involved in an accident. At which point the man said yes u did, I got annoyed after a while and told him 2 f*** off, then put down the phone.

He then called back called me a [***], said my address and said he was coming round in half an hour 2 f*** me in front of my family. I put down the phone, he then proceeded 2 call me another 5 or 6 times at least ranting about f***ing me! 2 say I was a little shocked is an understatement!!!!!

Had this number call me also, foreign (Pakistani) voice started to ask me if I was OK etc, I knew it was another unwanted nuisance caller so I just pushed my 'Call blocker button' and disconnected/barred the call. This is the 3rd number with the 0234 prefix (but different following numbers) to call within 5 days.

Just had this. No response at all when the call was answered. I'm damned sure they want you to call them back to incur inflated calling fees.

Had a missed call from 0234567890, I let it go to answer machine and somebody was hanging around waiting for me to answer. Did 1471, didn't recognise the 0234 so put the phone down, then I thought I would check out the whole number to see if anybody else had received calls from thus number and reported it. I was a but on the ball as I have received a scam email today from somebody posing as DHL. Theiving rob dogs!

Freaks! Had numerous calls from a 012347038371310 I didn't bother answerin, it's a scam where they keep u on the Fone rabbitin on a load of bull and they try and take ur credit from a mobile or on a landline, either way it costs YOU money,, dirty scum bags.. Think they've had enough out of our country already!!

keep getting calls from 0234810168323 .Could you throw some light as to who this number is and what would be the outcome if I answer or call this number back.

My 85 year old Mother got a call from this number this afternoon. Fortunately she did not answer it in time and there were no further calls. If I get to hear that this number has caused my Mother any problems then I will cause problems for the caller.

What does it have to do with BT?        The number is obviously fake.        Have you even bothered to phone BT about it?

I've just had two of these calls, I've googled the code 0234 - its Romanian so don't call it back!
Sadly the internet has given access to our open and trusting society to thugs, scumbags and con merchants from all round the world who are now able to access our details and take advantage of our old, weak and unguarded.
Sometimes I hate the world we live in and want to forgoe the technology and go back 50 years!

It's not a Romanian number. It has to be with 0040 to be a romanian code.
