Call from 02 5252 5256 tried to answer
Then another call about 10 secs later from private number???

Just got a call from this number at 7:50 am this morning. Didn't answer it as the number looked dodgy. Tried to call back but says the phone is disconnected.

Just now, didn't answer, not game to check voicemail

I just had the same thing before 7 am - the number rang and then two seconds later the private number!!!!! 😠

Had it just then. Weird seeing what people said about it

got  same no Mon pm on one mobile and again on our other mobile
wed am, just a lot of garbled voices on other end, will  reject this no now.

Just got the call in Melbourne. Tried to call back but not connected.
Maybe a John Laws revival stunt.
Or, if it is aliens I welcome our new intergalactic masters........

Got the call at 8.30am. I'm in Brisbane. My number is on the internet though because I run a business. It also appears on some real estate sites and I saw a Brisbane agent on here get the call last night? Maybe they're trawling the net for phone numbers?

My partner is also in real estate, received the call at 8.07pm but didnt answer it.....

Same - 0252525256 "hello world", rang back - disconnected, googled, found this site; now blocked. I run a small buisness too.

I just got a call from it as well saying hello world and then hung up. No call from a private number as yet..this is freaky.

Getting Started
This wiki page will guide you through setting up a SIP number to answer and make calls with a simple workflow.

Create an account
Point your browser to http://verboice.instedd.org
Click on the "Sign up" link at the bottom
Enter your email, a password and a password confirmation
Hit the sign up button
Create an application
We will create an application which, when called, will say "Hello World".

In Verboice, click on the "Applications" tab
Click "Create a new Application"
For the name of the application type: Hello World
Select "Use a custom flow" from the dropdown that says "Use a callback url"
Click the "answer" link
Click the "say" link
In the text for "say" type: Hello World
Click the "hangup" link
Create a channel
To receive phone calls we will be using a SIP account from http://sip2sip.info, so if you don't have a SIP address there you will need to go there and get one.

Next we will tell verboice to use this SIP address in your account:

In Verboice, click on the "Channels" tab
Enter a name for the channel, for example: mysip2sip
Select the "Hello World" application from the dropdown: this tells Verboice to perform the workflow of that application when a call is received or made from this channel.
Enter your sip2sip username
Enter your sip2sip password
Hit the "Create channel" button
Calling the number
Now we will call that sip2sip number to hear "Hello World".

First we need another number from which to call, so you can go ahead and create another sip2sip account. In the following instructions we will call Verboice Number to the sip2sip number you configured in Verboice and User Number to the sip2sip number from which you will make the call.

Depending on your operating system we'll guide you through downloading a software to configure that second phone number and call the first one.

In the field where it says "Search Contacts or Enter Address" enter the Verboice Number and press Enter or click on the green telephone icon.
You should hear a woman saying "Hello World"'
Making calls from the number
Now we will make the Verboice Number call the User number.

Point your browser to http://verboice.instedd.org/api/call?channel={ChannelName}&address={UserNumber} , replacing {ChannelName} with the name you chose for the sip2sip channel, and {UserNumber} with the User Number.
If you weren't logged into Verboice, a prompt asking you a username and password will appear: these are your email and password.
Your SIP software should ring and when picking up the call you should hear "Hello World".
Note that instead of pointing the browser to that URL you can also issue an authenticated HTTP GET request.

Interacting with external applications
Back when we created the Hello World application we chose the "Use a custom flow" mode. You can also choose "Use a callback URL". Selecting this option will tell Verboice to issue an HTTP POST request to an URL, having the reply that request's reply tell Verboice what to do next, similar to how Twilio works. Got a call from this number this morning at 8.39am. Missed both this call & call from private number immediately after. I'm with Telstra. Will add to my growing list of DO NOT ANSWER numbers!  

GOT THE SAME CALL FROM SAME NUMBER AS VERY ONE ELSE FROM THIS NUMBER .
HAS MY PHONE NOW BEEN HACKED ? WHO KNOWS .
I DID NOT TRYING TO CALL BACK GOT A LITTLE SCARED IN CASE THEY NEED A CALL BACK TO GAIN CONTROL OF

Call 5 mins ago. Said "Hello World" and then hung up. Immediately Googled and ended up here.

I am just outside Glen Innes & have just had the number call. didn't answer, and have not had a second call
