I got a call from 028-075-678 at 12:23 pm (CEST). I didn't pick up as I didn't recognize the number. I took a closer look and realised it's not from my country.

I received calls from  0280152270 twice today just an hour in between calls. I normally don't answer my mobile because of this unneccessary calls from unknown people. I know they are doing their job but for courtesy reason leave a message . I only checked the message when it finished ringing.  Why bother? Just wasting my time. Don't get me wrong. I am a nice person and busy as well. But stop ringing any time of the day even when I am driving and even resting.

Phone calls from 0280 cell (mobile) numbers appear to be from foreign callers (not Sydney) who present with very Anglo names. They are SCAMMERS. They tried to scam pensioners in my street under the guise of being from "Human Services". They suggested the pensioner couple (they knew their landline number and that at least one pensioner lived in the house, so possibly someone from inside an Australian Commonwealth Dpt is furnishing them with this information) were owed back-pay on their pension because they had been underpaid and to facilitate the back payment they needed to purchase a $500 Apple I-Tune Card at 'Coles' and ring 'David' back and give them the reference number for the I-Tune card to verify their ID to Centrelink and Human Services. Then the couple 'would have an appointment at 11am the next morning at their nearest Centrelink Office with 'xxxxxxxxx' (name withheld until furnished to the police but probably fictitious anyway) to fill in their forms for pension back-payments". DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO ANYONE CALLING FROM THESE 0280 NUMBERS AND DO NOT RESPOND TO ANYTHING THEY REQUEST OF YOU WHETHER THEY PURPORT TO BE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN TAX OFFICE, WESTPAC (OR ANY OTHER BANK) OR ANY GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT. In the case of the pensioner couple they were lucky the female Coles employee told them it was a scam.

We get regular calls from this number who are they, they never leave a msg,very frustrating.

I have had a call from 028041773, but that's only one of MANY from crank numbers. As fast as I block them, another one comes thru. No one TALKS on the earlier ones. NOW I have a whistle to blow in their blasted ear.

I got a call starting with 0280 about 15 minutes ago, claiming to be consumer benefits. But, it was an Indian call centre :/ full number here; 02803640050. Not sure who it is. Cold called me. Apologies for necropost. Only one I can find on it -_-

I think, whoever it is, has a certain amount of calls to make, per shift, and when you answer, that’s one off their list..
That’s why they never speak.
