Received a call from said Sydney Claims Lawyers allegedly I was entitled to a compensation in relation to an accident of our Honda van. (We never had any Honda though.)

I tried several times to return call but it always prompted to a voice mail with a lady of Indian accent. Again late in the afternoon I re-tried to ring them but it was either busy or nobody picks up the phone.

Tried to searh it online and found them on this URL address.

It must really be a SCAM !  

Somebody was calling me from tel number 0280067373. about compensation from my accident .He said he is from Australian Claim Authority

It has come to our attention for the past several years, a foreign (Indian) based call centres are cold calling Australians, primarily in NSW (with NRMA car insurance) who have been recently (past 12 months) been involved in a motor vehicle accident. These call centre staff are indeed making FALSE REPRESENTATIONS saying they represent e.g. Australian Claims Authority, or another one of the many company names used to dishonestly legitimatise their call. Their objective is to acquire anyone's MVA injury details to $on-sell to a yet unknown Australian based law firm/s.

On behalf of Claims.com.au, we wish to express our regret to the recipient victims of these annoying and invasive call centers. This international matter of fraud & phone scammers is unfortunately/currently out of Australia's official jurisdiction; as such, the (only) course of action we recommend is:

1. Post your experience on this page or on ReverseAustralia.com's Complaints for 02 8006 7373 in Australia Spam Report Card page: http://www.reverseaustralia.com/lookup/0280067373/ and

2. Register your phone number with Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA's) Do Not Call Register: https://www.donotcall.gov.au/ .

Please note, we are extremely interested in any information from you that may lead or assist our efforts in identifying WHICH Australian Law Firm/s is (possibly) working with these foreign call centres; we intend to refer such impostors to the appropriate local Australian officials.

They're still at it.  Called our silent listed number stating they were looking to pay us compensation for an accident (which
has never happened).  'Kevin' a Pakistani/Indian guy advised he was from Sydney Claims Lawyers who surprise surprise don't exist.  He gave his number as 02 80067373 which brings up these threads when searched.
Total scam and obviously so, they must think we all came in on banana boats!

They just rang me, total jumpsuit, had a go at him, he didn't like it

A bloke called from the given number and said he was asked about an accident in the last 2 years that somebody from this number was involved in.  There was a sum of $3500 compensation due to the owner of this phone. He was a rude little man and would give no other details.  Sounded Indian or some other race and he would give no details who he was calling for.  An obvious crook.

Have had numerous calls from this number since last week. Today I had 4 phone calls within minutes of each other. My baby was crying at the time of the call and the caller proceeded to tell me that a baby cry is such a beautiful sound.... umm, what the hell!!!! Well when I got the 5th phonecall, I answered on speaker phone, was a lady this time, told her "I warned you lot not to ring again" and kindly whistled (with my fingers - so very loud) down the phone!!! No more calls today. I will keep doing the same thing if they keep ringing.

Received a missed call on the mobile from this number - checked out this forum before calling back. I called back from a landline (blocking my number) and a bloke with an India or Pakistani accent answered "Sydney Claims Lawyers". I asked why they had called me (without revealing my mob number) and he advised that their records showed I had been in an accident in the last 3 years - note, I did not give my name and I was calling from a blocked number, so how could he know who I was :) Told him I'd been in no accident, thanks. He asked whether I was sure? Yep, no accident thanks. He then asked, "not even falling over in a supermarket?" I started laughing and said, "No, sorry. No accidents". he now sounded annoyed so I wished him a good day. Reading the other comments, coupled with the call I got, I'm convinced these guys are on some sort of commission arrangement with an ambulance-chasing law firm. If they call again, I'll make up an 'accident' story and see where that goes

they called me, about an accident I have had in the past three years. interestingly enough I have had an accident in that time. The operator referred to a redlight near a NAB bank and to damage on my passengers side. My accident was on a motorway and a truck bumped my rear.
They were not overly forthcoming with how they have my number, they would not furnish me with a license plate number, or that of the other vehicle.
I have called them back several times, getting them more and more irritated, to the point where they are not picking up my call. LOL
The information I got out of them led to a deregistered business file through ASIC, on an ABN search by business nme it doesn't seem to exist at all.

Got a call today. They said they were from Sydney Claims Lawyers. Googled them - no such thing. Told them that, they denied. Said they got my details from the Accident Survey Dept. Googled them - no such thing. Challenged them on who funded the Accident Survey Dept. Avoided the question. Kept asking about accident last December. Said I though they were scammers and that if they rang my number again I would call police. They hung up. Very heavy Indian accent. Beware!

This number keeps calling and telling me they are from an Accident Investigation Service and that "someone from this number has had an accident in the last three years,  such a scam but you answer it because its from a Sydney number thats what happens when all our call centres go over seas

I have had  a couple of calls which are silent.  This time I held on, and Mike Wilson from Mumbai was calling from Accident Investigations.  Very poor level of English.  I scold him that he was not mike Wilson, he was from India and he was remove my number.  Looks like this is going International, I am in the UK

I had several calls in one month,It is annoying and hard to understand ,the person gave me his name is Dan he is Asian and he is from accident claim department ,because there is not the first time to have a call from them I mentioned I will call the police to chace him up ,he didn't care and he is gone.

I got a call from Sydney Claims Lawyers same story.......car accident compensation . They called from a different number.  028006457

Also got a call to a business number. when I told him it was a scam he hung up.  I always tell these people I am going to call the police!! I find that usually stops them.

I just received the same call!!! I really want to know how they got my home phone number that I've never disclosed to anyone!!! But then again I just researched this further and it is in the hands of the  department of fair trading and it is suggested by the department that you should make a phone or an online complaint about these calls. I also sent an email to A Current Affair before I researched all this and saw all your emails so I'm not sure they'll be interested in this story....

Just had exactly the same call. This was the first web page that came up on search. So the scam is still running.
